I don't see a language option ingame or in the startmenu.

p.s. solved by google-fu, which is strong in this one!
Add this to your desktop shortcut: -language 49 -voicelanguage 49

UK? The X3 games came with a messy mix of American and British English but mainly American. Example: Sometimes the word 'missile' was used but usually 'missle'.

You can also simply change the number in the lang.dat file.

Things get a little more complicated with voice, as English version don't come with all voice data files on GOG, so downloading of a localized version and attaching/swapping of ".cat/.dat" files might be required.
