Seeing that other people reporting no problems with the Steam version I decided to bite the bullet and buy the Steam version too.

It works perfectly, no issues when the worms hit the water. So far it has not crashed at all on the same PC I installed the GOG version.

Although it too is missing soundbanks from the original, which I find unnacceptable.

I've had a response from GOG in the shape of an e-mail asking me to follow some basic support-related steps (uninstall the game, uninstall DirectX etc) but nothing specific relating to the water issue.

I also logged the issue with Team 17s' support site and received the automated "We have received your e-mail" response - I only logged it yesterday so don't expect an actual response until Monday.

I haven't read the forums on Steam so cannot say if others are having problems with that version, but as I say the Steam version seems to be fine on my PC and on the same PC the GOG version has the crash.

My specs:
Intel Core i7-2600K 3.7 GHz
8GB RAM
Windows 8.1 (64 bit bit version)

Looking forward to the patch.

I hope they also see sense and provide the missing soundbanks because to be honest I'm not going to play without the classic "Rasta" voice :-). I'll dig up my old CD and copy it in manually, hopefully that will work.

Hi.

Win 8.1 64-bit here.

I also experience the "baseball bat-worms hits the water"-crash.

In addition to that the game crashes on me every time I try to enter the "missions"-screen from the singleplayer menu.

gryfon: Snip.
What about the framerate drops widely reported here? Does the Steam version have the same issue?
What time is the patch going to be released ??

I agree... (for me it's the Kamikaze that I would miss a lot if they aren't included).
You'll be sad to know that in addition to missing soundbanks, some flags are missing too ! (and at least 3 that I loved and used often !)

I have little faith that GOG and Team 17 will provide these missing sounds and flags. Is there any way we can add these to the game? If gryfon's idea works…

I know where the CD is - I'll dig it out tonight to test my theory and let you know how I get on...

Somebody already did that: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwM3XRLBKNd8OXU3V2Q3T0JURlE/view?usp=sharing

Just copy that to your wwpr folder
noticed new patch today. anyone tested it?
I see that the installation file changed name from "setup_worms_world_party_remastered_2.0.0.1.exe" to "setup_worms_world_party_remastered_2.1.0.2.exe"

I no longer experience a crash when I try to enter the "missions"-screen from the singleplayer menu and the baseball bat bug is also gone now.

Seems like there's still hope for this game ^^
Fixed version works without "water bug" here too. Now I'm able to enjoy one of my fav. games again. Thanks for the quick fix.
Tested new version as well and the water splash bug is gone :).

Thanks Team17 :)
Works. Alreadly played two online matches. I lost both of them.
The horrible performance however is still the same with the new version... =(
This seems to be more like a hotfix instead of a patch, because the only thing they fixed is the water bug.
Did they simply took the .exe from the steam version and modified it ?

A patch would adress the performance issues as well as other bugs, but apparently that didn't happen in that short
amount of time. Maybe it's adressed in the next so called "Patch".

Patch 1.101 (20.07.2015):

- This patch addresses crashing issues such as when the Worms hit the water.
