Hey,

On the 20th of October there was a patch released for Worms World Party Remastered. No patch for GOG yet, but hey, I don't mind waiting a day or so. Either way on the 21th I made a thread on Steam if a GOG patch is in the works.

I got the following answer:

"Hey guys,

We apprecitate your ongoing patience, I can assure you that we are working on a GOG update but it's likely going to be a couple weeks of work. Every update that we bring to WPPR will also come across to the GOG version. Once I have an ETA for the update I'll let you know"

Here is the link to the thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/270910/discussions/0/483368433107434461/ and in the attachments in this thread is a picture.

So in other words we need to wait "a couple of weeks" for a dumb reason. Just wanted you guys to know...

Sincerely,

Lifell

Thanks for the information !
If I'm not wrong, you can find infos about this upcoming patch here.
Here is the changelog Team17 provided :
• Frontend upgraded for a high resolution experience at 1080p.
• The game now runs at 60 fps on recommended specs
• Alt tab issue improved: alt-tabbing/minimizing no longer breaks the game but you will have to click the WWPR shortcut to get back into the game
• Added control scheme page for keyboard in the Option menu
• Various improvements on the pad controls
• Various improvements on the mouse sensitivity

A lot of things that we were unhappy about at the launch of the game. So it's a very good news :) (if everything is really here as promised)
It happens that sometimes, it a takes a lot more time for some patches to come on GOG. That's never funny but well... I personally prefer it to be slow but well done.
I only hope there won't be another issues like at launch. We will see.

Version 1134 of Worms World party is live now :)
So, question for anyone who owns it: does this fix all of the major issues (low frame rates / random crashes)?

I held off on buying this because of all the reported problems it had at launch, but I might reconsider if it's working as it should now.

I never experienced any of the major issues some people had ever since release, but I have to say this patch makes the game much more fluid and smooth, it fixed a lot of minor stuff I had going on. No lag whatsoever, now, mouse movement is smooth and I appreciate the new font they replaced the original with, as it makes reading way easier.

All in all, if you skipped getting WWPR at launch, I definitely think it's in a much better state, right now, and worthy of a purchase.

I'm downloading right now, and let you know my experience as soon as possible !
I was still experiencing performance issues. We will see how it is now ! :)

Edit : Aaaaand... it's not as smooth as it should be (clearly not 60FPS). But I don't remember perfectly how it was before the patch (because I didn't played since : I was waiting for this fix. Since the launch. 5 months ago.). It's playable, but still has performance issues (may be it's a little less laggy now, that's possible. But in all cases, it's still very far from the smoothness promised for me.).
But some things were improved (like menus resolutions).
But still no "full controller support". And missing soundbanks and flags still aren't back...(but you can add them back manually : see here).

Thanks for your replies.

I'll certainly keep an eye on this one, perhaps I'll grab it during the next sale (I don't think this is "full price" material). I'm still disappointed T17 dropped the ball on this one, though. Why bother selling this here at all, if their priorities clearly lay elsewhere? They should've just offered Worms Armageddon instead, that one has a lot more support from the community with patches and add-on content. It would still be a lazy cash grab, but at least you'd get more bang for your buck than with this half-baked "remaster". Missed opportunity.

Necroing the thread. How about now? Does the multiplayer finally work decently? Is it streamable? :P

Last I heard multiplayer was all but dead from the get-go because WWPR started off pretty awful, and Armageddon's last patches ironically made it more advanced when it came to certain details related to maps (and of course, said enhancements never made it to WWPR's engine). So once again, there wasn't much reason to step out of the already active game that's held up for all these years.
