Curious whether this game supports proper widescreen. The images show the game as widescreen, but very few games this old support widescreen. I'm wondering if whether in widescreen mode the game adds the black bars to maintain a 4:3 aspect ration.

In other words, I'm afraid that on a widescreen monitor it will look like the bottom, lower image on this page:

I'll probably be playing it on my little netbook, so it would be pretty bad if it wasn't using the whole screen.

I don't know what they did with the screenshots, there is only a small black bar at the bottom of the screen. The game originally runs in a resolution of 320x240 which is doubled by the default DOSBox settings to 640x480, so definitely no widescreen.
Change the settings for the scaling engine (you can find the graphics setup app in the start menu)

Change it from "Supereagle" to "Normal3x" and change the renderer to "DDraw" this should help the black bar at the bottom :)
