It'd be neat if someone could make a launcher frontend for all this content. Maybe with some graphics configuration options. I'm still having widescreen stretching problems. Black borders on the side look a lot better than a face stretched all to hell.
I'm so glad this finally worked out!
Thanks GoG team, you are the greatest!
Ok, to get the character transfers working for SM1 and SM2 it's as easy as either loading up dosbox manually and running them, look at the conf file to figure out how to load up the c: drive, or copy and modify the the dosboxWC_single.conf so that the end it changes from ...

------------------------------------
@ECHO OFF
mount C "..\WC"
c:
loadfix -1 wc
exit
----------------------------

to ...
-----------------------------
@ECHO OFF
mount C "..\WC"
c:
transfer1.exe
exit
-------------------------------

and then making a new shortcut for that similar to how they made the WC1 shortcut will let you load up the transfer program for taking characters from WC1 Venice to SM1. The method for the SM2 character transfer is similar but trans2.exe instead of transfer.exe

However, note that you must have a saved game in the last series of the previous game to use the transfer utility, so WC1 Venice to transfer to SM1 and SM1 Vigrid to transfer to SM2.

Awesome seeing that the Secret Missions/Secret Operations have been added. However for some reason Secret Missions 1 is not functioning.

I will click on the option via the Game's Main screen. It will take me to the simulator in the rec room. After the Hornet blows up, it asks for name and callsign. After you do that.... an error pops up and takes you back to the main Dosbox launch screen. Attached is a screenshot of the error.

Please try "Reset Game Data" option from File menu. But be aware that this operation will wipe all your save states so I recommend to backup them using "Export Game Data".
Ok, I could be dumb and not reading the posts correctly. So I apologies if this a repeat post.

I see the content of WC 1 SM 2 installed (or at least in the folder. But does not come up at the main screen. I try to run it outside of its self but errors out, I thought WC 1 SM 2 was able to be ran from the 'main screen' of the game. (choose Vega, Continue, Secret Missions)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled all content, and did not produce a result. I don't understand some of the stuff when it comes to making individual shortcuts to the SM 2 pack, I could just be dumb tho.

Additionally, anyone have issues, when lots of assets are on the screen, that performance slowing down? Such as Fighting in an asteroid field with seven other ships? or fighting five Grotha and a Ralari and only getting one of your cannons go go off? Is there a way to increase performance on that? Not HUGE of a deal, cuz I just take Shotglasses advice, lower the shields in the rear and stick a missile up it... and BOOM no more kitty... but would be nice when I'm doing my 'Iron Man' games. It literally just slows down time, the recharge rates n stuff work, but like it slows down. So a second gets expanded to like five seconds.

Thank you for the support in advance ... I took a weekend off to play all this content ... and hope my thrust master is compatible when it arrives.

Edit---
Well, I found a way to run it via a weird hap hazard way through dosbox, but the game runs noticeably slower and is in a small windowed version.. but hey, SM2 is working...ish...

Edit 2--

Ok, answered my own questions. Just gotta run the SM2config then when dosboxerrors out, got to manually type in SM2.exe at the prompt. Then you can use Alt + Enter to Maximize the screen, and use Ctrl+F11/Ctrl+F12 to adust the pace of the game or framework i think they called it.. This is helping out when a lot more assets show up and bog the game down. Tho, I am still working on it. Would be nice if it was in its own launcher like WC 1 + SM1 but hey, im ok now. Just posting this for other ppl.

Helped out quite a bit to. Not to dog ya GoG, just showing where I got help. Id rather pay money and own it leagly then pirate it. :)

JudasIscariot: Hi guys!

Today we uploaded the Wing Commander Privateer Playtester's Guide under Wing Commander Privateer and the Wing Commander Product Proposal under Wing Commander 1+2.

We here at GOG.com hope you enjoy the additional content!
I don't get it.. what file do I need to redownload? I don't see any file that says 'new'.
Yeah, it claims something was updated with WC3, but I don't know what was changed.
The installer was updated (from 2.0.0.5 to 2.1.0.7).
I have no idea what was actually changed.
yeah, some patchnotes would be nice.
Wing Commander 3 Patch:

Game hopefully patched so losers like me can play it without getting wrecked...
Yes, I agree about the patchnotes of Wing Commander 3.
i saw a patch for setup_wing_commander3_2.0.0.5.

i have this game because i bought it during a mutator promo and used it to complete the 3 mutators
thats why its in my collection

i have these files:

setup_wing_commander3_2.0.0.5.exe

setup_wing_commander3_2.0.0.5-2.bin
setup_wing_commander3_2.0.0.5-1.bin
setup_wing_commander3_2.0.0.5-2.bin

very large files
the file downloaded is also very large... do i need to keep the old big bigfiles, that is , that they should be always installed first before applying any updates/patches? or can i get rid of them?

I bought Wing Commander 3 - Heart of the Tiger, and this is how it was installed. It was version 2.0.0.5 and came in multiple files. The "update" I received yesterday is 2.1.0.7 and was only in 1 large file (1.6 GB). So I installed it and it went into a new directory, just says Wing Commander 3. I played both, I don't know what the difference is.
