I just started playing the series with WC 3, and I have some questions:

1) Does talking to crewmembers have any consequences? I am able to repeat dialogue by clicking on them again and then I can select a different answer, so I guess not? Or does it always save the first / last answer?

2) Are your crewmembers actually different from each other in the cockpit regarding reaction time etc.? Which are the best?

3) Does failure in early missions have any consequence on later missions? I failed to protect the transport against the invisible missile in one of the first missions, yet I way allowed to continue. Does this change later missions?

4) Is there anywhere in the game a description of the different missile types, primary weapons etc.?

5) Can crewmembers die in combat (outside of scripted sequences) and you can to continue on without them?

1) there are a few but not many, the most influenced are the romances.

2) I'm drawing a blank here.

3) if you fail too many missions in a row you get the bad ending path, you can get away with one or two failed missions per branch, I know I failed one when I got the good ending.

4) probably better read the PDF manual.

5) not here, at least that I remember.

For #2, yes, the different pilots do have different skills. After my recent playthrough, I'd rank them like this in terms of skill in the cockpit:
1. Maniac
2. Flash
3. Vagabond
4. Cobra
5. Vaquero
6. Flint

The only problem with using Maniac and Flash is neither will follow orders, which can be frustrating in a tough mission. I tended to only use them if I wanted some wingmen that could rack up kills as quickly as possible.
