Dear GOG: I think if you see in the request features, GNU/Linux version of games are a hot topic, so, when you "offer" a leading open source leading game like Warsow, a game made to work in GNU/Linux from the scratch, just as a "free" game, is, at least, unfair. And worst, you dont provide the GNU/Linux client as a download option, and why in the specs is show as a "Windows (XP, Vista, 7) and Mac OS X (10.6.8 or newer)" compatible and not mention that it work, natively, in GNU/Linux??? Did you really listen your whole comunity??? I choose you cause your DRM free policy, but now im going Humble cause they are DRM Free and really, GNU/Linux Friendly (the last Humble introduce a lot of Linux native clients, like Torchlight and FTL) Please go further, go GNU/Linux!!!

PD: the url to the GNU/Linux client: http://www.warsow.net/download

Wow. Entitlement much? Seriously, the reason they do not offer the Linux version is due to GOG not officially offering Linux support (yet). Do you really expect them to do this for just one game when they don't do it for any other, free or not?

Seems to be a lot of that going around here regarding OS support.

As I understand it if there's a windows version available that has open source and you run at least one machine with a windows OS can't you download the windows version and then "repack" it so it works on Linux? I think someone mentioned this before specifically for Linux but that may have been a DOS game.

No! It's invaded GOG!
Unfair? GOG.com are offering a free game, the Linux binaries for which you can still acquire elsewhere, for the platforms they currently support. Is it disappointing? If you really think that opening your browser and finding the link is too much of a hassle, maybe, but unfair? You can't possibly be serious.

I honestly cannot even begin to understand how you can feel you've been wronged here.

Seriously? They're no worse than Windows users, console users, or any other game players.
For fuck's sake. You even linked to where you can get the damn game for free and for Linux. Here's a crazy idea for you: Just download it there, you entitled little twat.

why are there linux users it a terrible os for gaming.
Actually, I don't understand why this game is on GOG at all. Wasn't this game always free? It's like pulling in a random open source game and releasing it as free on GOG.

Steam is coming to Linux. Try asking Valve. BTW, there are a bunch of games out there that runs on Windows/Mac/Linux. Mac and Linux both share UNIX heritage, so I don't believe porting to one would be harder to port to the other, so why not port to both?

Thanks for the reply I didnt know that sorry for my ignorance :) The only reason i dont go to linux because its hard to play your favorite games on. I would rather have used linux then pay microsoft another penny for a high resource demanding os.
I don't understand this game. I just go through everything like a friggin camera?

Just be careful with Linux. I have been using it for a while, and the only one that seems to be beginner friendly enough is Ubuntu.
