Hello wonderful people !

I hereby announce that I will be streaming and hosting a large variety of maps every saturday and sunday on GOG's battle.net server starting usually around 8PM GMT (3pm EST).
I am welcoming every positive, and friendly, person out there that just want to play the game and have fun on an old game.

No matter if you are good or terrible at the game you should all be able to enjoy the game and have fun with us, so make sure you give it a try!

We meet in the "Op Trogallart" channel this is our home for the time being, so make sure you join that channel to see who is online when you arrive on battle.net.

I've only ever played connecting by modem with friends back in the day. How do I join one of your games (or any others?) I tried going into the various IPX protocols and found nothing there. Trying to join battlenet "global" would bring me to a screen that looks a bit garbled with empty fields I'm supposed to fill in (I guess) but any text that might say what those fields are supposed to be is not visible.

Some program (with own Overlay?) Interrupt game window or you start game from DX version of exe with wrong setup GOG DX wrapper conf tool.
Start game directly from Warcraft2bne exe for online play.

Diablo support page have info that some of the Logitech (mouse tool) have overlay that interrupt game windows. Also MSI Afterburner if it still open (minimized to tray) can cause problems.

Try to turn on/off "fullscreen optimisation" in Compatibility tab on exe file Properties.

I tried clicking on both Warcraft II BNE.exe and Warcraft II BNE dx.exe directly in the folder, both with "Fullscreen optimizations" off and on, but nothing worked. I attached a video showing the problem

Okay strange there's no video... I took screenshots from the video and post them here (Screenshots from the game didn't work, they just ended up being black screens.)

If it is a rendering problem maybe you could try downloading this ddraw library and put in inside your game's folder.

Maybe that helps also try compatibility modes I suppose :-)

Of course there is no need in Safe Mode laucnhing. Just check what process listed in Task Manager (process list = process tab, not overview tab).

Set up "Keep aspect Ratio" in video driver for all applications (in general settings). Try to experiment with fullscreen optimisation and also another one tweak - DPI scaling (have few options).

And i hope you didnt stay on some very outdated update build of Win10 (some compatibility options not available, same as lack of Legacy DirectPlay in Windows components\features on-off in Control Panel).

(about scaling - it avaiable only on Desktop versions of AMD+Nvidia hardware, with Intel Nvidia took that option from Intel video driver, yo make available this swticher you must first lowest Desktop resolution - then return it if you want)

Quick update on this for you guys out there that think this game is dead on the retail server, our games still happen every single weekend saturdays and sundays there is no better time for you guys out there to come hangout and share our love for an old game.

If you guys do not feel like playing on private servers and still want to play multiplayer make sure you check our twitch / youtube channels and see for yourself. We are growing and really have fun!

If you would like to play but feel you are not good enough at the game you couldn't be more wrong!!!
You can enjoy or have fun regardless of being good or not at the game we have many ways to make sure you have a chance to win and enjoy games. How do you think we all got good at it? No one was born a pro player so give us a chance, come have fun and make friends we litterally play every single weekend. :D
