And another with this issue, thought it might have been because I jumped ahead on a few things (seemed to be the thing to do at the time), just replicated exactly the steps in a walkthrough from YouTube, same issue.

Same problem here. One interesting fact: The toast item does NOT have a name (in inventory, when mouse-hovering over the items it shows the name, like "butter", "honey" etc., but the toast is not named.

Thus, when selecting the toast and attempting to give it to wallace, it does not say "give toast to wallace" or anything like it did when giving the honey or egg to wallace.

sounds to me like this could cause it. I hope this might help narrowing down the problem.

And you can make as many toasts as you want (with complete animation with squirrel)but in inventory you have only one.

I'm also affected by this problem. I've sent in a ticket with my dxdiag and a save game file at the point of problem.

Hope to hear something on this soon, as with the save file, it should be extremely easy to verify, even if the fix takes some time.

Glad that I'm not the only one with a problem! Luckily it was at the start of the game so I was able to restart and try several different ways to get Wallace his toast. None worked, so I'm confident it is a bug. I tried the toast first, I tried it with nothing else in my inventory except toast, I tried it by mixing up the order of the items you give Wallace, but no change.

Will check back to this thread to see if it gets resolved.

You can select the bills to force Wallace to write some papers (biils), so he needs to push the button and you can take the man on rope. If you have an egg already, You cannot select it.

Toast doesn't have a name displayed in the inventory like other objects and Gromit just looks at the table where honey and eggs are and shakes his head when trying to give the toast to Wallace. Can't figure out a way to do it differently as I can't put the toast under the eggs or anything. Also, after turning on all hints, it seems the game doesn't recognise the squirrel being outsmarted. Wallace keeps thinking Squirrel took the toast even if it didn't anymore.

I really hope this problem gets solved because otherwise I want my money back.

Having the exact same issue. I've read through the guide so I know that I've done everything correctly too. Gromit just refuses to hand the toast over the Wallace. As this makes the game literally unplayable I expect a refund if the issue can't be sorted.

Same here.....seems like its pretty widespread. WOnder when we will get a fix? Has anyone figured out a work around? Or a save that will allow us to have already given him the toast?

Not that we really need any more confirmation - but my 4 year old son is getting really annoyed at the game because of this.
