Yup, I damit, I am just venting here, but this is one of the worst boss fights I have ever seen in my gamer life. And I am playing games for more than 30 years now. I simply can't beat the bugger. It's not even Apocalypse, that guy himself is dirt cheap, it's those wrait that keep swarming you, drain your Overdrive and your life like crazy, avoid your attacks; while constantly rushing into you. Oh, and all that while half of the floor is lava and the whole area does not give you room to operate.

I am level 36 or so and I am not ashamed that I still can't beat this boss fight for the life of me. I've been tinkering with gear and buffs for days now, with only partial success. I can manage bring Apocalypse to 25% in a minute by now, then I get swarmed by those wraith and pretty much insta killed. Fine, others made it, I can't and I HATE it. IF the cooldown for the potions would be a bit shorter, maybe I could make it, but I don't have any according cards and OF COURSE the game won't give me any as well, hooray.

The worst thing is that I really like the game a lot. But this... even if I manage to beat the fucker, this is one of those insanely stupid and stupidly insane boss fights that will give you no sense of achievement or at least relieve when you finally beat them. Just a "Meh..." feeling and the notion that after THAT mess I am not sure I really want to finish the game.

Whoever thought this boss fight was based on a good concept and good ideas is either a sadist or a complete and utter moron.

Hey,

This boss is defenetly is the hardest. Probably you already beat him. Nevertheless i will give my advice. Put more wildcards and one barbarian card if you have one. In addition, dont forget to upgrade you equipment on the transmutation maschine.

In case you still have problems with him as last resort you can lower the dificulty to casual just for him.

Cheers

I had a similar problem with the boss and probably died 30+ times before beating him. All deaths were caused by me rushing to fight the boss, which at certain health bar levels spawns more wraiths. The key mechanic to defeat him in the fight is to kill every wraith first, then go and nuke the boss until the next four ones are spawned and again kill them first before continuing. That got me every single time before it snapped in my head what I had to do. Hope it helps someone. :|
Sorry, somehow my two comments were posted as one for some strange reason and since you still can't delete your comments, this is a placeholder. :)

Edit: Urgh, now that did not work out the way I expected. Apparently it's not a bug, but a feature. Sorry for the inconvenience!

A bit late, since I had not that much time to play lately and actually forgot about my little rant as well.

Well, one good thing came out of this mess, because while looking for a solution, I've realised that the Motörhead DLC was on sale with a hefty discount. And oh boy, am I glad I've bought it. Especially with that discount I really got some bang for my buck. Being an old metalhead anyway, I just love it.

And so I've played the DLC for some time and then I came back completely, utterly and totally overpowered. I have beaten the bugger in maybe a minute, because I was idling, and I do not feel guilty about it. Just bombed the beast back into whatever counts as the stome age in hell, while laughing manically.

Thanks for the advice, I will remember that in case I give it another try without using the DLC content!

A bit late, but nevertheless...

I was actually trying to do that, but at least for me, this did not really work out that well. Those damn wraith were just too damn elusive.

But while looking for a solution, I've realised that the Motörhead DLC was on sale with a massive discount. Since I am an old metalhead I just could not resist, despite my anger, and immediately fell in love with it. I just wanted to test it, played for faaar too long and came back to the bos as a completely and utterly overpowered gunslinging incarnation of wrath and carpet bombed the bugger and his little gang back into oblivion in less than a minute. And I regret nothing!

Anyway, thanks a lot for your comment and help, much appreciated!

Yup, DLCs are often Pay-To-Win. :/
