Dear all,
We are currently testing the Redux version. It should be available very soon, providing there are no problems with this build.

Thank you! :)

Will this redux version still require the steam_api.dll for starting up or has the developer finally removed Steam from this supposedly DRM-free version?
Didnt that happen in the last 2.4 patch?

@GoG Team.

Will the redux be a own game or just a new download for the old purchase?

According to Astronauts, it is a new position in Steam Library, so probably it will be the same with GOG version.

steam_api.dll is not DRM as it does virtually nothing when the game is not registered with Steam.
Hi guys,

sorry about it and thanks for reporting that. We will investiagate the case in the following days.

I know, but have you tried to start the game after removing those files? Good luck with that :)

Well yes, it makes calls to steam_api.dll library, which then does nothing. Therefore it won't work without the library, but the library itself will not really do anything, unless you actually own the game on Steam, have Steam itself installed and active on your system and put it into your Steam installed games folder, then make Steam detect it - that's a pretty damn contrived DRM scheme if I've ever seen one ;-) Including the file is more common than you'd think with games on GOG, and since it does nothing and is just added hassle to remove, there's absolutely no need to (unless you want indies waste their limited resources on something as pointless yet potentially time consuming). The only concern is how legal is distributing this file without Valve's persmission - then again, if Valve doesn't care, neither should we. It can lead to some weird bugs on some systems with Steam, but as long as you care about DRM-free, you probably don't even have Steam installed.

I hope the testing is going well, I'd love to get my hands on it ASAP!
Oh, yeah, that would be great... Steam users playing already with UE4-glory.

just woke up to check and see if it was there... nope! I'm happy to be a drm free customer but it is annoying how many times I'd get stuff faster than if I just got the steam version. AFAIK Kotor 2 hasn't been updated and I used to have to wait days for Vikings Conquest patches. I hope this kind of thing improves in the future.
It should be available any moment now.
Yay! Props to you guys!!
