The quests I have no way of finishing are just piling up in my log.
I'm already 30 hours into the game so I hate the idea of replaying.
at the same time I hate the idea of continuing with all the messed up quests (unreceived emails, mailbox in skyline apartment not working, etc. ).
How can a game be still this buggy even at this point?
Not even mentioning all the minor bugs, like being impossible to push some buttons at the skyline elevator, and pushing those which are possibly only by pointing completely elsewhere, than where they are.
Is there a chance to repair my saves so I can finish my quests? Repair the elevator and mailbox and email and so on?
Or is the only solution just replaying = wasting 30 hours of my life for nothing?

Are you using Galaxy, and have you disabled auto update?

You are right: there can't be that many bugs. Your installation is frigged.

Used Galaxy and didn't disabled updates. The version I play is 1.2 (UP 10.2).
Did I do something wrong?

If you installed a newer patch like the current 10.5, Galaxy downgraded it during your gameplay and the result are incompatible saves and a messed up game. Another reason could be that you play long sessions in one go, like more than two hours. The game is known to get messed up then and we found no way to fix it! Normally the first sympthom is the Skyeline map acting weird. Just quit and restart from an earlier save, and if that doesn't help, you can use the air vents in the Skyeline building to get to all flats too!

I didn't install any patches manually. I installed it using galaxy.
And yes, I kind of binge played it. Often even 6 hours sessions :( didn't know that could cause me some trouble.

So probably replaying only. Isn't there some way to speed it up? Like some cheat to at least increase the walking/running speed? I quite enjoyed the atmosphere of walking through the cities, but it will be very annoying to do all that time consuming walking during a involuntary replaying.

And yes, I am using vents most of the time, but for example Sarah's flat has the vents locked, unless you open them from inside. So going through elevator to her door is the only way, and as it's impossible to point at her floor in my elevator, I just had to use noclip command to get to her floor...
Then I also didn't get the keys for getting into MegaHurtz. And also after dominating the cafe reviewer, I never get an email from prince. Some people on forums said that this can happen if I used computers at both the old and new apartment, which I didn't, even thought I've been in the old apartment, but there was no computer anymore.
etc.

Thinking about it, everything was OK until I got the new apartment, so perhaps I could reload a game from before that event and replay from there. Still a lot of replaying as I'm in chinatown already....
You must remember to turn off auto-updates for games where save-game compatibility between versions is not a 100% thing. This is one such game.

Maybe play with another start to make it different enough?

That two hour thing is super annoying. Maybe use an alarm in your mobile or something.

yes, but that didn't happen. the last update installed in my game was one from march 2019... no definitely no updates happened during my gameplay.
And good idea, I was playing Venture, but was always curious about Malkavian... could be different enough to make it worth replaying.... although I liked my venture character a lot and was curious to see if I can make that Vampire State Building mine.

Malkavian and Nosferatu are the best clans for replays, once you’ve played through the game with a more "classic" clan.

Malkavian female is cutest, I think.

Malkavian female outfits tend to be different forms of stripper outfits, so that helps.

Malkavians are also the only female PCs who don't appear to wear a bra.

However, best costume award goes to the Male Malkavian IMO - there's just something about a Cat-In-The-Hat pimp outfit that suits the character so well...

I installed the newest patch before replaying and all went smooth this time.
It also allowed me to choose the "plus" content now, which made the game so much better. I think it would be best, if that was what gog installs by default. Hats off to people who made it and their attention to details.
btw now I noticed, that GOG when installs bloodlines, it includes also unpatched "Bloodlines (Legacy)" in start menu. I almost clicked on it today, and it could be that I did during my first run, screwing up my run.

I find it bit dangerous that the way that the game installs by default includes two completely incompattible versions, with possibility to run either.

Would be better if the broken version without unofficial patch wouldn't be added into start menu at all.
And even better if default wasn't just the unofficial patch, but plus content too. It feels so much better and believable. Interesting how big difference the sum of small details make. Small things like gun delaer being on a more reasonable (low-profile) place, considering what he's doing, etc.

Thanks to everybody who put their time and heart into doing this.

While I personally agree with you, there are purists out there, who want to play the game as broken as it was released. For them I had to split the patch into basic and plus versions in the first place!

And I’m glad for that, the "basic" version being exactly what I wanted to fix the game without altering its contents ;)
If the fixes were still linked to the restorations and additions, I think I would not use the patch at all. And that would be a shame, as it is a great compilation of fixes.
