It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Just picked this up in the sales, but am real frustrated as the game gets stuck on the 'loading' screen during the cut-scene when your returning to your ship at the beginning. I did a ctrl-alt-del to see if there was an error, but only a popup window that says a protection fault occured. I am using the latest nvidia and sound card drivers already.

I am at a loss because it was running on max gfx settings and no apparent problems at all. In fact it was running damn nice indeed. I am using windows 7 (64bit), i5 3570K, Nvidia GTX 560 and 8gb ram.

I have tried entering the properties and marking it in compatibility mode (XP) but no changes/improvements at all.

Error message ..

"General protection fault!

History: PrecachingVertexBuffers <- Precaching <- UGameEngine::Draw <- UWindowsViewport::Repaint <- UWindowsClient::Tick <- ClientTick <- UGameEngine::Tick <- UpdateWorld <- MainLoop"

Have tried the Affinity/cpu fix but made no difference (using program called 'Run with Affinity')

Any help appreciated!

Skip this Unreal title, it sucks and doesnt deserve Unreal name!
My first thought is to make sure you're running as the administrator.

Not very helpful or insightful. We need to alleviate frustration by attempting to get this purchased product up and running.

YMO, I have never used the affinity program you referred to. Have you tried assigning core affinity through the task manager? Also, I have heard that enabling Vsync from the start menu will sometimes prevent U2 general fault errors.Hope this helps.
