I love the atmosphere, really. The art style and the music (oh the music!) just blow me away. And the gameplay is amazing too of course.

I'm afraid Unreal in less "eveolved" version of Unreal, and it would feel strange to play it as a single player game after playing the arena FPS that is UT.

What do you say ?
If you dig the atmosphere, art style and music, then you're most of the way to loving Unreal. Do you enjoy playing single player campaigns for FPS titles? If you're answer is yes, then I think you'd be crazy not to pick up a copy of Unreal Gold right this second, especially with it currently being on sale for 75% off.

Your personal preferences aside, Unreal is one of my favorite games of all time. It's like riding a gravy train with biscuit wheels. I highly recommend it ;)

NOTE: If you do pick it up, download and apply patch 227i.
Hi, I also highly recommend it! In base concept - I started to love Electronic music because of this game :D Anyway I need to add that there is a terrific AI. It is an example even to modern games as they are more downgraded than updated. Play it, enjoy it, and mainly finds MODs for Unreal to hype textures so you can enjoy it more for modern standards.

I spent hours on Unreal Tournament (99) and Quake 3 Arena which I find incredibly fun, even in solo! And I still play UT 99 regularly!

I bought Unreal 1 recently and I did not like it at all. The action seems slow-paced compared to the frenzy in UT. I did not like the universe, either. I found Unreal 1 rather boring and uninteresting. I guess I would have been more impressed if I had discovered back it when it was released. After UT, it looks dull. The solo campaign of Quake 2 aged better, in my opinion.

Yeah, that's what I afraid of. After the adrenaline rush of run n' gun in amazing surreal enviroments with an eargasmic music, it's hard to match it.

Still, the atmosphere in Unreal seems great, as it has similiar art style and music.
The Unreal has the classic style of the FPS genre. Large stages with multiple routes, enemies waits for you in every corner, and you will find better weapons in the latter levels. Much like the Duke Nukem 3D. The stage's environment is really diverse, can not get bored it.

Zuhutay said its speed isn't like the Tournament's. It was latter criticized by other fans too. But luckily this is the Unreal engine. You can speed up the thing by altering the gamespeed. Feel free to try the possibilities. :)
