Hey everyone,

I purchased Ultima IX, and when I goto play the game, I get a blank screen with a mouse cursor. I'll hear a ding in the background, if I hit escape, it skips ahead to the game, and runs perfectly fine. If I downsize it, I see an error message that shows the location of the video attempting to be played and it says the video has unsupported steams.

So my first thought was perhaps I don't have the required codec, but if I goto the movie folder, and click on the videos, they open up in Windows Media Player and run perfectly fine.

Any suggestions on how I can get this resolved? Anyone else run into this issue? I tried doing some google searches and found nothing on this issue other than a post of two or a forum that sadly had no responses :( I made sure I have the proper codecs installed, and ran the videos of the game thru Virtual Dub and confirmed all needed codecs are present. I

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

IIRC there are two modes that you can play the game in if you run the config program. One, the default, is using a glide wrapper, the other attempts to use DirectX. Try running the config program and switching between the two options.

For NVidia ONLY:
-After much trying, i noticed my nvidia control panel resolutions didn't even had 640x480 in the list.
-I manually added 640x480 resolution (hit customize->create custom resolution) and the videos DID PLAY.

WARNING: this can screw things up, if you do mistakes, like put 600HZ or something stupid by mistake, so be extra careful if you decide to do this. You might have to switch back (like me) to your original res after that, and that's a chore also, due in 640x480 you won't see windows right.
