A common solution to poor performance when encountering enemies is to enable VSync. While it may work for those on 60Hz displays it doesn’t work for high refresh rate displays. A frame rate limiter solved this for me, and allowed to play with 99 FPS. I’m guessing the fps value may differ from system to system, but going down to 60 is not required.

Oh, and play with Tron Legacy soundtrack in the background.
What frame limiter are you using?? I set limit in Nvidia Conrol Panel and stuttering still occurs.

EDIT: Well, I tried Nvida Inspector, Riva Tuner and heck, I can't limit framerate in this game only :/

The Nvidia Control Panel probably isn't working because the TRON 2.0 profile points to the wrong executable. It should be pointing to Lithtech.exe, not TRON.exe (which is the game's launcher).

Since there's already a profile named Lithtech that points to Lithtech.exe, you could use that one. But I think it makes more sense to utilize Nvidia Profile Inspector to delete it, and then add Lithtech.exe to the TRON 2.0 profile.

The upcoming v1.2 of the Killer App Mod will have a frame limiter to address the stuttering issue. The stutter occurs at the same point on every system, 100 FPS, due to a flaw in all Monolith games that use the Jupiter engine.

Thank you for reply, I can confirm that Nvidia Control Panel and Nvidia Inspector Profiler don't work, either for tron.exe and lithtech.exe. For anyone having issue like me, go with Riva Tuner and set 99 frames limit for lithtech.exe AND set "Application detection level" for High. I completed game again yesterday and after 17 years after release it's still hecking good :) It was my second playthrough, first was about 2009. Still great game.

Confirming that this fix works. Thanks for following up!
