It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

With the amount of loks and other types of wagons, buildings, game changes, it is hard to keep track and everything updated.

There are two approaches for mod managers.

Both are bound to the Steam version at the moment, because this was the only platform available at the time they started development with pre-release versions.

TFGM - Train Fever Game Manager
It is heavily bound to Steam with showing information, profile. and obviously requires the Steam version of Train Fever at the moment. I am in contact with the developer, who is willing to make it work with non-steam versions and offered to help testing with the GOG version of the game.

TFMM - Train Fever Mod Manager
Not so much bound to Steam for information and updates, but you cannot start the game, because the 'button' to start it looks for the steam version only and it has no effect if you start the game without this tool running.

Both developers are heavily active and there is much hope for a non-bound version of a manager. :)

Hi GoG community,

Yes, I'm currently adopting TFGM to integrate GoG as much as possible.
You can always reach me on Train-Fever.net

Cheers.

Great news.

I'm waiting for one more GOG tester to respond before I publish the official version supporting GOG.
I haven't tried using any mods yet, as mastering the base game is challenge enough at this point. However, if you're willing to put up with a few noob questions along the way, I'd be happy to test the mod manager for you as well.
I hold back installing too many mods at the moment.
My basics are:
Timeless Mod, Grapchic, Bridges no Pillars

I'll add tons of vehicles. Why can I not find any ICE in the mods? Apparently there was one in production, but the topic got closed...
ICE-3

And here one British Class 156 train:
http://www.train-fever.net/filebase/index.php/Entry/969-British-Rail-Class-156/
These are modern diesel transport engines and not electric. Though Chiltern Railways now rather use Class 67 (1999/2000) model which is diesel/electric.

Alright. I'll check them out tonight when I get home from work.

EDIT: I grabbed the TFGM (0.91.1.55) and the TImeless and Cost mods for testing purposes, but the TFGM doesn't (naturally) detect Steam and therefore won't work for me. Is there a different version of TFGM I need to grab and did not see the link to?

The long waiting is over. TFGM now detects GOG installations as well.
Any Steam related feature, such as the Avatar and Steam profile, won't work of course.

Grabb it in Train-Fever.net download section or directly from my drop box:
TFGameManager.zip

Please report any problems through any of the TFGM forums or the mail link inside TFGM (Tools->Preferences->General->Debug"

The manual is a little bit outdated but can be fetched here

Does it look like the new to Steam/upcoming for GOG patch will break TFGM? It looks like it changes quite a bit.

Works perfect.
I had to download the ssl library to update TFGM from here and put it into the TFGM folder.

For the GOG update, I downloaded and ran the patch. Started TFGM, it noticed the updated game version and created a new restore point. Everything smooth from here, I could load my old save with mods and everything.

VERSION 1.0!
I guess this is as good as any to make a 1.0 release.

* A tag manager has been added
* translate tags.
* Edit tags.
* Add customized tags.
* Delete tags.
* Export tags.
* Import tags.
* Both simplified and traditional Chinese added tot he language list.
* Import tags by drag & drop.

More minor fixes for robustness.
1.1.1.85 - 1302
Version 1.1

* Temporarily removed the repair option.
It was only checking the legacy format. Needs to be rewritten.
* Added a tag preview in tag manager.
* Added a colour editor to the tag manager.
Now you can set your own colors on the tags.
* Create and Add new tags directly from the Mod's information panel.
* Auto naming when exporting tags by languages.
Edit manually to break auto naming and clear the name to enable it again.
* Added auto named tag file exported (selected languages).
* Added more links under the help menu.
* Added progress bar when scanning for modules.
* Added confirmation dialog after tag export.
* Added an auto clear option to the log window (auto clears when TF starts)
* Added Select all to log window.
* Added Find dialog to log window.
* More intelligent mod import from non standard formats.
* Better Lua error messages.

* Fixed a bug where search with empty strings always returned match.
* Fixed a bug where tags sometimes where exported under the wrong file name.
* Fixed the group on status view mode.
* Fixed a bug where all flags (mod's info page) was shown if a mod didn't have any strings defined at all.
* Fixed a potential crash when TFGM closed after TF had been closed manually.
Release Release 1.3.0.91 - 1308

* Added a vehicle browser.
* Fixed the tag export filename not including the right path.
* Fixed the empty tag list if no tag had been selected in mod view.
* Lua engine now loads external script references.
* Targa images now use alpha mask.

The vehicle browser currently only shows all installed (vanilla, dlc and mods) vehicles and their data.
It scans your TF installation at startup, so be a bit patient ;)
