Haven't heard of this game before today, looks like almost nobody else has either. Third-person perspective, desolate woods, haunting atmosphere, Nordic mythology & horror themes, Norwegian developer to boot (http://antagonist.no/), ...

I've got 60+ games on my wishlist and I was saving up for a sale but alright, I'm taking the plunge. Impulse buying this in a few moments, will get back later this evening with my thoughts.

Are the devs here on the GOG forums by any chance? Would be great to talk to them directly, if needed.

It's a shame to hear that many people had never heard of this game before today. In addition to being one of their backers during their campaign in May/June of 2015, I also wrote about their game on the nerdy news [url=http://geekswithwives.com/seen-kickstarter-june-2015]website that I contribute to. I don't believe the developers have posted here before, but that may change now that the game is out.

I had a lot of fun with the backer demo they released last year. I think you're going to be in for a real treat.
Played the opening fourty minutes.

+ Terrific and engaging build-up
+ Breathtaking scenery
+ Exquisite sound design, very good voice-acting (playing with Norwegian dialogue (as was intended, I'd assume?), mesmerising soundtrack.

Disappointed with:
- the complete lack of custom graphics settings (textures, anisotropic filtering, lighting, anti-aliasing, ambient occlusion, whathaveyou...)
- the complete lack of individual audio settings (music, dialogue, ambient, etc.).
- poor lip-sync on the characters, which they themselves look quite bad (face models, to be more specific).

In short, I'm pleasantly surprised. This has a very Alan Wake-ish feel to it and I can't wait to go back into the woods. Quite excited for my first enemy encounter as well!

Whilst there are issues, none so far make me regret my purchase as the majority can be fixed with a patch.

This sums up my own experience as well, I've been looking for my Alan Wake fix since the end of that series and this game finally gives me something to sink my teeth into.

As a side note I know some have complained about the voice acting but I personally (playing in English) haven't had any objections to it, yes the voiced acting is accented but none of it is hard to understand and the accent actually adds to the immersion for me.
