sorry I have to be first one to say this butt Steam release or no sale /sadface..

and yes me personally I like to have all my games on steam in one place...
Why release it on an inferior platform?

sorry I don't were a tin foil hat.. DRM doesn't scary me

having to manage and install multiply Digital store clients on the other hand.. that's terrifying (Client : games)

Steam :5030
Uplay 78
EA Orgin 108
Oculus Home : 76
VivePort : 53
GOG Galaxy : 71

just to list of a few...

All my GoG games are Dups of steam titles because of GOG connect... so I don't actually have to install or manage any GOG titles cuz I have them all installed via steam

Thronebreaker will release on PC via GOG.

There's is the release on Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

There are no plans to release Thronebreaker on Steam.

Additionally, you do not need a client to play Thronebreaker.

Steam is only good when they are doing sales of games.

DRM free is always a better option.

I'm 100% with you on this, buyer choice should be paramount, no game should be on just one storefront.
At least give us Steam as an option.

And writing words doesn't scary you neither it seems. :D What a maverick you are! Truly inspiring. :D

Why did you do that at all, if you don't plan to use it?!? Makes no sense whatsoever...

btw: Telltale went bust and their site might go offline any day essentially, taking all the games people bought in their store down with it. Good thing no one wore tin foil hats over there, that would have been the real tragedy! :D

And that actually comes across as pretty condescending. I truly hope that Cyberpunk isn't limited to GOG only.

It's an interesting conundrum for them surely. Valve releases their games on Steam exclusively to draw people on to their platform. It is debatable whether this tactic might work for CDPR with Cyberpunk 2077 in growing Galaxy adoption. Similarly we now see that EA now exclusively releases their games on Origin.

Conversely if we consider the market dominance of Steam, not releasing on their platform could impede sales and cause commentary similar to which you voice. It is understandable, and not unexpected.

Surely there are some serious financial instruments involved in the discussion and a high-level strategy guiding general decision making when this decision was made months ago. As an example, clearly for EA the strategy is already in play with Origin exlusives and EA Access, and they appear to be doing just fine financially.

It's quite interesting to watch when you think about it, I'd get the popcorn out as it'll be sales figures and continued play that drives decisions in this space.

Well what do you expect from a GOG "Automated Bot"? Looks like someone needs a marketing update… Or this is part of the polish Charme. ;p

But seriously just buy the game on gog, you don't need their client since their is no DRM and the developer gets more money. I really don't get your problem.

And it's going to be more and more...
Activision used now Battle.net, the Activision-Blizzard client.
Bethesda will stop used Steam to use their own, with Fallout 76 next month,
EA use Origin, Microsoft too, Sony also on Playstation, Nintendo too...
Ubisoft use Uplay (but you can buy it on steam, and it will be both Steam AND Uplay DRM)
CDP used Gog, who is one greatest client i've got so far. So. That's how the market work. Steam will loose many editor in the next years because nobody want to keep them "alone" on the market.

The "Only Steam" is something who can finish in next month.
