Why does this feel like a tablet/phone game that was begrudgingly ported to PC...?

Why does every single object in the world require a click-and-hold to interact with? Why can't I just CLICK on the damned tree stump to loot it? This makes exploration SO freaking tedious.

Why isn't there any way to advance in-world written text without completely skipping it?

Am I crazy or is there not a single keyboard hotkey in combat?

Please tell me these issues are going to be patched. They would be TRIVIAL to fix, and they make the PC experience so much more irritating than it needs to be.

The "text" cutscenes w. characters are really baffling me too. I don't understand why it is not progressing automatically when I didn't skip and let the narrator do it's thing. He will always stop and I must click on continue, why? What's the purpose? I really don't understand it.

If I left-click anywhere when the text "gets written" it makes the whole text appear at once and the "talker" still talks through their part.
I also don't have to specifically click on "continue" (I don't even remember if there is anything stating "continue"). If I left-click anywhere when the talker/reading is done it continues with the next part.
I like that it is waiting for my input. But then again, my playtime tends to get interrupted and if it kept running I would miss everything. There is no option to repeat it as far as I've seen.

Yeah from your point of view it's a useful feature, from mine it's annoying.
Should be an option in menu to turn it on/off ;)
Agree with everything here.

I'd also love to be able to move with WASD rather than the mouse.
The controls remind me of old action-RPG's like Diablo and Nox. I actually kind of like that I can hold the mouse button down and then steer Meve along the path without having to make a bunch of waypoints for her. However, I'm completely baffled why I can't just click on things that are close by.

There's an icon telling me something can be interacted with a few inches over on the screen, so I already got close enough that I "found" it, and there's no real-time combat, so I'm not going to have a random encounter while I'm opening a chest. There's no logical reason why I can't just click on the chest (or loot, or person, or whatever) and then Meve should walk there and interact with it. Instead I have to hold the left mouse button down and fiddle around near the object until I'm close enough (but not too close) that the other icon appears and I can finally hold down the right mouse button to interact with it. It usually works, but the icon doesn't appear sometimes and it happens often enough to be really annoying.

I also really hate the invisible walls and knee-high barriers. For example, I can see loot on the other side of a short fence, and it even looks like the fence is broken in places, but I can't get through the damned fence. I waste a bunch of time clicking in different areas trying to figure out if it's really blocked or if I'm just not clicking the exact right place to walk through. And then I give up, wander off, and find out that there's a needlessly circuitous route that doesn't even look walkable and that's how I'm supposed to get the loot. And then I see a guy I can talk to on the other side of a house and I can't get near him, so I waste a bunch of time looking for a way around, but there is none. Turns out there actually is a direct path between the two houses, but I must have clicked slightly the wrong place before because she just wouldn't walk through it, and then she went there with no problem when I came back a long time later :S

Anyhow, I'm actually really enjoying the game overall (just finished Act I). I'm definitely going to keep playing it, although it would be awesome if they could tweak some of these control issues.

Those cutscenes are basically like a visual novel, so they should have the options that visual novels usually have. In a visual novel you can usually adjust the speed at which text appears, and there's usually an option for it to automatically advance through the scene until you hit a decision point. I never use that option because I hate when it advances before I finished reading, but it would be completely different with Thronebreaker since there's voice acting. I'd definitely prefer to just let the cutscenes run until I have to make a decision.
