I encounter a problem when I try to fight Eldain, at random once the A.I turn starts I am stuck waiting for it to play or do something, the animations and sounds are still working but I am just there waiting for it to play any card. So far I waited 10-20 min on 2 occasions and nothing.

It does not matter if I choose to fight with "tactical advantage" or not, at some point in the battle the A.I does not play any card. I also tried multiple graphical settings but the problem persists.

I just ran into the same thing last night. I attempted the encounter twice. On attempt number 1 Eldain never took any actions. The second attempt he took two turns and then on turn 3 he stopped playing.

@OP - Did you ever manage to complete the encounter?

Yes I did, at the time I had a few areas to explore before the encounter so after failing one last time I tried changing cards in my deck and testing them in battle before the encounter with Eldain.

I noticed there was something off when I used the Manticore Trophy, like a bit of stutter on the start of the enemy turn so I started using the Lyrian Banner instead, also I didn't like dealing with the ST archer that dealt increased damage against buffed units and I did my best to stay with low morale.

At the end I managed to fight and finish the event. I don't think it had anything to do with the graphical settings, compared with the previous bugged encounters I fought using the Lyrian Banner and my army had low morale.
Hello.

Today I faced with the same problem. I restarted this quest at least 8 times, changed decks, but results were the same, AI stuck and did not do its turn.

Did you try playing using Lyrian Banner or fighting with low morale? I think that's what I did and I managed to finish the battle, that or I got really lucky.

Hello there

I´m having the same issues, i play with low morale, i got the banner, i changed cards in my deck... I chose to fight with ground advantage and after my first turn the score says 101 to 6 for him and on his second action he just waits... This is the 7th try right now and it is really frustrating!!! On one hand i want to continue the game because so far i really enjoy it on the other hand it drives me nuts that i have to cancel the battle because of the missing action from eldain and then that pr*ck acts like he won over me ;) Darn elves...

Has anybody a solution or talked to a dev or sthg?

greetings

I changed the Video setting to "windowed", instead of "fullscreen". It seems this fixed all my problems with the game constantly getting stuck/freezing and/or turns not ending.

Yeah, I've tried, still stuck in these Gamebreaking bugs.
I've just submitted a support request. When/if I get an update/fix, I'll post it here.
Me too. I've submitted a support request. I've tried this battle enough times. Time to take a break from Thronebreaker until this is fixed. Boo.

Also on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/gwent/comments/a6e48f/ai_bug_in_thronebreaker/

Edit: I managed to get around this by downgrading to 1.00 and playing the battle. The bug isn't present in 1.00. If you have GOG Galaxy, you can do this by going into the game's Settings page, turning off "Automatically update to the newest version", then selecting 1.00. Warning: There's a chance this could corrupt your saved game (in general, going to an old version of a game can cause save state issues). Mine was fine, but just to be safe, you can back up the save files in C:\Users\yourname\AppData\LocalLow\CDProjektRED\Thronebreaker.

I received answer for my request: developers know about this problem and fixing it. So we have to wait, I guess.

P.S. I tried with low and normal morale, without and with banner - it did not help me.
same error here... ai moves are taking too loong anyways. And it doent look like it is very smart either. So cant understand whats taking so long. Yeah, but this time it is just stuck...
So I decided do not wait and rolled back version to 1.0.0, won the battle and upgrated game to the latest patch again.
The problem isn't the version, but the decktracker. If you check your deck for cards, the game breaks in various ways. After not checking the deck I didn't have a single problem anymore and could progress smoothly.
