I have an older computer that on paper should easily be able run Thimbleweed Park if not for the DirectX 11 requirement (Core 2 Quad, 8 GB DDR2, GTX 285, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit). I don't think "pretty sure it would run, even though the requirements disagree" counts as a valid reason for a refund, so my question is thus:

Has anyone has tried running this with a DX10-era GPU? If so, did it work?

This is actually interesting as my C2D+GMA950 equipped laptop is quite capable running Binding of Isaac if I turn off certain 3d effects (bloom, pixelation, shockwave) in the preferences. Just google 'How to speed up Rebirth considerably (even on ancient hardware] '

EDIT: tried Thimbleweed on a laptop with Intel GMA 4500MHD, DirectX 10, Shader 4.0. 100% playable.

The system requirements also mention Windows 7, which does not even support DirectX 11.
It's probably just a mistake on the shop page.

This game (apparently) uses no 3D effects whatsoever, so DX9 should work just fine.

DX11 is available for windows 7. DX12 is Win10 only. :)
Right, I forgot. For some reason I thought they locked it to Windows 8. No matter anyway :) Thanks.

I've tested the game using DXcpl tool on a similar hardware/OS, it seems like the game supports DirectX 9.0c compatible video cards and higher. If I set DX feature level to 9_1 or 9_2, I get the error. See the attached image below. If I set feature level to 9_3, it works fine. You can read about DirectX 11 feature levels here. 9_3 means NVidia GeForce 6600, ATI Radeon X1300 (DirectX 9.0c / Shader Model 3.0).
