Hi everyone, could someone explain to me how to change languages in this game under Windows? Because I don't understand how to do it and I would like to use the French version. Thanks a lot.

In your library, whilst having Theme Hospital selected, you're able to click more > launch settings.
A dosbox window with sound and language settings appear, showing the avaliable languages.

Is the French version fixed in this GOG version ? There was an awful bug which freeze the game at level 5. EA never fixed it, but there is an unoficial patch (Blustuff's patch, which is actually an updated LANG-1.DAT file)

I am not sure since I don't speak french. Maybe you can try and tell people what the results are.

I won't buy a game I already own (I still ha've the original big box), only to verify if the distributor (GOG) has fixed a 18 year old known bug.

Anyway I can't go back to play the original game in dosbox since I tried the opensourced port CorsixTH (which needs the original game data files for sounds/musics/graphics)
I ask only to know if I can promote the gog version to my 'french speaking' friends without the need to manually patch the game on their computer if they got stuck on the level 5.

Probably should not be fixed. Gog only put together the official patches, if Bullfrog never released the fix for that, probably will not be included.

To the best of my knowledge, it hasn't been fixed. There are various threads on this forums with suggestions on how to overcome that problem, but I haven't tried any myself. Personally my solution has always been the same: avoid the French version of Theme Hospital like the plague. In this day and age of internet and VOSTFR American TV series, your French speaking friends surely must have picked some basic knowledge of the English language, just enough to be able to play this game in English. That's what I eventually did.

Alors si je ne me trompe pas, quelle que soit la langue choisie sur GOG, l'installeur sera le même, il faut changer la langue soi-même : va dans ton menu démarrer, trouve le répertoire "GOG.com", trouve Theme Hospital, là tu devrait avoir, en plus du raccourci pour lancer le jeu, divers raccourcis (pour le désinstaller, pour configurer DosBox, ... ) : clique sur le raccourci "Launch Settings". Ca devrait te lancer une fenêtre dosbox avec un menu te proposant de changer la langue ;)
Et si tu ne le trouve pas dans ton menu démarrer, vas dans le répertoire d'installation du jeu ("C:\GOG Games\Theme Hospital") : le raccourci "Launch Settings" est aussi présent !

(Par contre méfie-toi, je ne sais pas si le bug du niveau 5 a été fixé, comme dit quelques messages au-dessus dans ce topic)
