Goodmongo: I have to laugh sometimes. People think that news and actions should be known the world over. There was no internet. there weren't newspapers, radio or TV. This is like the 13th century Europe. What happened in France was little known ins ay Poland during the 13th century.

So you let Roche kill Henselt. Only the two of you were there and know this. Yet somehow some remote elf band in a forest should know this? How do you expect all of this information to travel around the world?

These small raider camps don't know you. They've never seen Geralt before. How do they know you aren't lying? Why should they trust you? Did the elves send out a telegram with all the defenders if you picked Iorveth's path?

Sorry but all of these arguments fall way flat on the basis of lore, capability and even simple common sense.
except if Henselt is dead, that is all that would be required for news to spread rapidly not who actually slew him.

Also something as Pivital as Nilfguard getting involved you would think the Scoiatel exploit the human in-fighting to their advantage which has not been seen.
Well in W3 there are only two comments regarding Henselt that I'm aware of. And they are the same no matter what choices you made. The first is that you learn Henselt is dead from the Nilfgaard dude. No indication how or when. The other comment is at Roche's base where some ask if it's true that you and Roche are kingslayers. Again the same comment no matter your choice.

So the only thing that really is known is that he's dead. That news would spread because he's a king. But no one knows if Radovid had him killed, or someone from Nilfgaard or if you let Roche do it. Heck it's never confirmed when he died.

So all that some small band of renegade elves would know is that he's dead. How would that impact your reception by them? Why should it change how they treat you? Henselt being dead will have zero impact on if those elves greet you kindly or not.

The elves are being targeted by both Radovid and Nilfgaard. Neither army wants them around and will hunt them down. And since this area has two huge armies it is much more logical that the elves would leave the area instead of coming to it.

well the problem with your argument is the scoiatel work behind the scenes and not full scale war because they do not have those kind of resources. If anything Nilfguard would be trying to exploit this and using non-humans just like real life how the europeans had ethnic armies like the Ghurkhas and native American tribes. Going by witcher lore Francesca has her own state. Logic would dictate that if Emhyr wants to control the north he needs to make the populations happy and make deals with the non humans to make his life easier.
But the elves already did the bidding of Nilfgaard once and have vowed to never trust them again. So why would they now trust them? If you ever studied history you soon learn that an rebel, partisan, bandit etc. group is not in the area of the main battle or armies. They are way behind the scenes. This whole map is crawling with soldiers from all sides and the elves would not want to risk it.

So your argument that Nilfgaard would try to exploit it and the elves would agree is wrong because that already happened and the elves were betrayed. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

your actually wrong because your proving my point about the scoiatel staying behind the scenes as you put it, but they are still involved. I never said the non-humans were deploying full armies but they are going to have to choose a human side, and it would appeal to the non-humans to pick a side with better relationship than a eternal fire madman who burns anything not human.

Actually, it is known that he died in the front lines of a battle against Radovid, when Redania invades Kaedwen. What I don't remember is if Radovid killed Henselt himself, or someone else did.
My last game was an import where Roche killed him. I can't recall hearing that he died on the front lines which would invalidate the save (which I've been saying doesn't matter anyway). All I can remember for sure was the comment that he died which made it easier for Radovid to consume Kedewin.

But this is a distraction from the main point that the elves would not and should not treat you differently just because you picked Iorveth path in W2.

I agree with you, and I never said they would treat you differently. I said that they should of been more involved in the affairs being that there is massive changes happening that are going to decide the fate of the northern kingdoms.
