Well, my schedule is pretty standard. I wake up early in the morning, go to college, come home, read a book, study, play some videogames, have dinner, and go to sleep. I only hang out with my friends in thursday or saturday, and I don't do it every week.
In Witcher 2, Oils and Potions would last X amount of minutes, a set duration. In Witcher 3, they changed it so oils have charges that are used up when you hit and potions had their effective duration toned down.

Witcher 3 then gives you back the effectiveness of these potions in ranks. Regular, Enhanced, Superior as you level up. The problem, is that the game is at its hardest at the early levels (-15) because your weapons, items, bombs, poitions, oils and such are at their base stats. Yeah, I was cursing the potitions, foods, oils and other for being so useless, bu now that I'm level 21, everything has peter'd out.

Game gets easier as you level up and become beastly through the advancement of your gear and items.

Hang in there.
A bit confused by ppl complaining about having to re-apply oils in combat since I've never been able to do this at all!

I'm almost certain that no matter the difficulty level if I try to use an oil in the middle of a fight I'm told "cannot perform this action in combat"

On the overall system I have to count it as an improvement simply for the fact that I never used potions in W2 and now I do. Also prefer not to have to be constantly checking every plant I see to keep supplied.

mcgeehe: No point in beating around the bush. Consoles are to blame for the majority of TW3's short comings. TW3 was optimized around a platform with limited buttons and hardware.

Vitalfever: Pretty much this. I have to say the oil annoys me the most. It's nearly useless since if you're fighting a strong enemy on death march it'll take more than 20 hits to kill. I don't mind about the potion refill, saves us from unnecessary grind for herb collecting. The Witcher 1 handled potions and oils the best. Doesn't feel like I ever need to prepare for tougher fights anymore given you can just chug down potions in combat with no animation or downtime, and they only last a short duration so there's no reason to drink them before combat to prepare.
Once you upgrade Oils they have more uses..

Example:

Cursed one oil = 10% dmg bonus and 20 usues
Improved Cursed one oil = 25% dmg bonus and 40 uses

Strange, I seem to be able to apply oils to my swords in combat without a problem on the hardest difficulty. 1.04.

I see, didn't know that. Good to know, thanks mate!
I would say the most negative aspects I've encountered with the game so far are the clunky controls. I expect to have a sign cast the moment I press the associated button, not the current setup for the game. Also, the controls for exploration and horseback is really slow and clunky all around.
