So since the instal with Galaxy is abysmally slow (0.1 to 0.2 MB/s) and accidentaly having removed all the progress it did by aborting thinking it would simply pauze.


I tried to download it using the game installer from "extras" in galaxy app wich is must faster (4.4 MB/s)

BUT after a few hours the download failed and halted, with no explanation or error log to be seen from what i know.

I checked the temp folder and everything but part 7 seemed to be there, so i removed the download from the QUEUE as that was the only option available, in the hope of being able to resume the download by selecting it again in extras.......however that deleted everything also ......

Now i got a few days left so it's not THAT big of a issue but clearly i wish i had bought it on steam at this point.

So my question is: did anyone else had this issue of the download failing and is there a fix ? Currently im re-downloading the installer from galaxy and part 7 individually from gog.

But that might not fix it as it maybe failed due to 1-6 being corrupt ?

First of all, I think you did right having bought it on GOG for many reasons. Direct support of the developer and great community are amongst them.

As for downloading via Galaxy, for me it was in one go with no issues with average speed 1-1.5 MB/s. So it took many hours and nothing crashed. I keep saying in other forum thread that currently the preferable way of downloading would be GOG Downloader, it has pause/resume feature and is polished in general. Galaxy is still beta and lacks a lot of features. Your story is just a proof of it.

But don't let Galaxy in its current state spoil your experience with GOG. I believe GOG team will have it done right eventually. For now just use Downloader for bulky downloads and Galaxy for casual or testing purpose.

Download failed again, and turns out part 7 is part 6 when trying it individually for some reason.

So i give up and yes i'm using gog downloader now, it's quite fast @ 5.3 MB/s on average.
