Playing on borderless windows and hitting prtn screen is working for me. Then just paste it on paint or whatever.

I am using fraps. There also is the debug console enabler (dlgshow / dlghide, free camera movement) available.

DocDoomII: Bitching about the absence of a mere screenshot button looks silly compared to something as basic as being able to rebind all controls.
To you it may appear insignificant, but to those of us for whom the creation and sharing of screenshots of this beautiful game is an essential part of our pleasure it's far from minor! A huge amount of effort has been put into making the graphics beautiful, so why choose not to allow screenshots it's a fabulous way of promoting the game to those friends who don't have it and to keep really hilarious or poignant moments. The folder for screenshots is right there in the file system so it must have originally been intended to function!

I have no interest whatsoever in rebinding the control keys as I have learned to use them in the standard configuration but I didn't suggest that your choices are silly. Treat us all with respect please!

Sure this works but it only allows you to take one shot before you have to exit the game to paste your picture! Very cumbersome.

You can alt + tab and paste it without closing the game.

I have to admit, when I found out that the Vanilla game did not provide for HUD-less screenshots, I really was like: "o_O Eh? Seriously?" There are so many fan-driven gaming web sites out there gathering around image shares ... how could you miss this phenomenon.

PC version, here. Allow me to elaborate on my suggestion a few posts earlier. I am using fraps. I bind the screenshot key to, say, F12. I set the screenshots folder to be, say, d:\share\ss\w3.
I do not have to alt-tab out of the game, open Paint, ctrl-v, save picture. Just press F12.
I have set up the HUD in such a way that it does not show up unless I am hurt or in battle. If this does not help, I resort to the debug console enabler, as mentioned above; check nexusmods.com.

I can't enable the GOG Galaxy client's ingame overlay because it crashes the game right on start up.
Not like it would be able to take screenshots anyways.
But I can't take screenshots even without it. Every 2nd time I click the PrtSc the game crashes.
Also always crashes if I click it during a cutscene.
Just about perfect :D

Edit: The easiest solution I found: Just add witcher3.exe as "non-steam game" to your steam.
At least their overlay works properly and takes screenshots without any problems.

Steam overlay didn't work for me. I use Greenshot. Works just fine.
