Hey, sorry to be a pain but there are still issues with Witcher 2 that in some cases make it unplayable. Among the biggest for me has been the keys not repsonding, and the further one goes in the game the worse it seems to get. That really needs to be fixed. One might be thinking with no proposed schedule set for forth that the team feels they have other priorities (like Xbox version) but the game is not yet entirely playable with some serious issues still unresolved. So, if someone should post an ETA for the next patch and what is being proposed to be fixed in it that would be reassuring to many people myself. I myself have had to shelve the game after too many issues wit the character sitting still when I try to perform actions that should work, including having full health and vigor. that is a major problem: and every xbox player would want their money back. So, schedule for next patch and ETA to this key repsonse problem. Please and thanks.
Laggy controls are the biggest issue with w2 and this does need addressing

You are not alone. Please note that any keyboard drivers other than the default OS ones can amplify the lag 10 to 20 times. For me having the Z engine drivers that support my STEELSERIES MERC keyboard makes my game unplayable

I second the keyboard lag problem and I would also add the sound system problems that some people have in The Witcher 2.

Agree on both. For some odd reason I seem to be getting odd sound problems suddenly. Unfortunately as its intermittant I can't pin it down to anything specific, though it does seem to fix itself quite oftem by going through doors. Basically music or sfx just suddenly cuts out (but not both together) and it seems fairly random.

It's not even lag, toon just gets locked and won't respond to anything. Have to sit and wait it out for your toon to die so you can start over the last save.

This has happened 3x already on Chapter 2, but yet I played through prologue and Ch. 1 flawlessly

16:10 support should be one of the top priorities!
I once had very similar input bugs when coding autoit scripts and i've seen them using similar named variables (mousedelay, etc.). This was the reason I stopped coding a nice little tool for sacred 2 because it was one hell of a pain in the ass to fix and in the end, I didn't manage to do that and blamed it on autoit. Took me 50ish hours of trial and error to realize that.

If they've to deal with the same shit, kudos to them if they fix it :)

Patch 1.3 will suport 4:3 displays, so I think that includes 5:4 and 16:10
Haven't experienced too bad of keyboard lag but any improvement would be great, I've only just started chapter 2. The only thing I'd suggest is maybe adding some confirmation screens when you click main menu items, since if you mistakenly click save or load or quit, it's too late. Heck, they don't make it obvious how to delete savegames unless you read the patch notes or the readme file, some new players might find that strange.

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. They specifically mention 4:3 support and only 4:3 support. If they were going to throw in other resolutions, it would be more logical for them to just state 'the fix will include support for various resolutions'.

And as much as I'd like to see 16:10 resolution support though, I think some of the other issues reported in this thread are more urgent. I'm willing to wait for full support for my 1920x1200 monitor.

Sirandar888:
I leave basic drivers for keyboard. interesting... would have thought you'd have a better experience with driver specifically for your keyboard. Another potential issue I've noticed is that you can't overwrite saves, and if you save the way you need to you collect quite a LARGE set of save files. Loading gets slower with each new save. No surprise but lack of file management for saves is also rather embarssing, and should be EASY to fix.

Some CDP chick has confirmed on their site that 16:10 will be included in the fix.

As for mouse and keyboard input problems.. that what happens when you use software transition overlay instead of hardware input.... another case of console design causing problems for PC users.
16:10 was explicitly mentioned as being supported in 1.3 in a post by 'CDP_RED_Techies" (in this case, Karolina Niewęgłowska) in response to a direct question about it. I haven't seen mention of 5:4.
I hope 1.3 does not require me to remove and reinstall again. 1.0 to 1.2 did not like the mods I was running. Even removing the mods out of the cooked directory didn't help. Had to completely uninstall for the patch to function.

My list in order of importance:

1. keyboard lag. Geralt not responding to hotkeys has gotten me killed numerous times.

2. Inventory needs many fixes, so many I won't list them here.

3. camera gets stuck, and so I can't turn it to see enemies. They promptly kill me. And there's an insane mode for this game???

4. targeting for doors and looting. It sucks.

5. Hardly any in-game settings. I really don't understand this, when we had everything we needed in TW1.

I love this game, I really do , but some parts feel blatantly rushed or overlooked. It baffles me really, given that CDPR had 4 years to make the game and it's ( thankfully) lot's of little annoying stuff they didn't get right. But it still hampers my game. Should I just quit playing for a month or two and hope we get more patches?
