gig45: A witcher with heliotrope would laugh at a jedi and his force tricks.
Also to those who say the jedi pulls out a pistol, you forget the queen sign (fully upgraded).

Still, if it comes to light saber vs sword, i'm guessing the jedi would have a lot better odds then the witcher.
he uses quen, and hes up in the air, he would be out of the fight until it runs out.
ad for heliotrope, jedi already can do things at a super speed.

The heck with jedi vs witcher. I think this is the more important and tougher question to answer.

One thing is certain, Zoltan out-swears Gimli by a mile :)

Sapkowski's dwarves seems a lot tougher to me than Tolkien's dwarves.

Archangel30: This comparison is kind of pointless as the Star Wars vs Star Trek one.

But I just wanted to chime in and say that we cannot know how lightsabers work against magical weapons. It can easily be argued that magic>technology. Remember, lightsabers are not some kind of force weapons, they are just technology and even in the Star Wars universe there are materials that cannot be destroyed by lightsabers.

And this quote is useful in this situation how?
Witchers would win big time. Why? Because they actually have brains and don't rely on plot device and idiot villains to win.

Game-wise since Jedis are human, all a witcher needs to do is press x for combat acrumen and he can kill three jedis!
That reminds me of the times when I used to play JKII religiously (light saber battles servers only).
Implying the jedi cannot choke the witcher in mid air until he dies, or throw/drop him off a cliff.
No way witcher could win with Jedi in a sword duel. First and foremost - lightsaber can slice through anything, which includes even the most well-crafted witcher sword. Besides, witcher's signs aren't the strongest manifestations of magic, while Jedi are masters at using Force. Jedi wins 10/10 fights with witcher.

However, if a jedi fights with a mage instead of a witcher, especially the most powerful (Philippa, maybe Sile or Dethmold), then it's a whole different story. With enough time to prepare spells and with enough distance between both battlers, there is a higher chance of jedi losing than in the previous duel. I would say jedi wins 6/10 battles, providing he/she is not a Skywalker/s descendant and/or maximally skilled at using force.

A Witcher's magic alone is more diverse and powerful than anything a Jedi has at his disposal. Plus a WItcher is faster. He has powerful drugs on his side. He can shoot frakking fire from his hands, or set traps, or slow down time, or simply Aard the Jedi's overrated ass against a wall and break his back. The Jedi's light saber would slice nothing but air against a witcher.

And I'm pretty sure a Witcher could hang a bucket of water off his prick. Let's see a Jedi do that.

Not sure why I'm bumping this silly topic, but there is something that has not been mentioned or even considered at this stage...

The speed of wielding a lightsaber combined with the precognitive effects of being in touch with the force would easily counteract the sword skills of a witcher..

I'll explain: A lightsaber's blade is a projected plasma beam encapsulated by a restraining electromagnetic field, and is essentially weightless. The effect of this is that there is insufficient weight past the hilt to counteract the swing, creating a gyroscopic effect. Only the most highly experienced lightsaber combatants can counteract this effect without the aid of the force. The benefit of this weightlessness is that it allows the wielder to reposition the blade in an instant, which is how the Jedi are able to deflect blaster fire. It also allows for sudden change in the direction of an attack, allowing for misdirection and luring your opponent into creating an opening. To quote from Raymond Feist's description of a Rodezian Slamanca "In the hands of a master it is a fearsome weapon, and suicide in the hands of a fool"

On the other hand, if both combatants were to use a conventional sword, then the Jedi would be pretty much fucked....
The Jedi can probably jump around like Mario only 3 times higher and wear the Witcher out before the fight can begin.
This is going along way, anyway like i said before a witcher, will always be on par with a jedi, however, Geralt will always no matter what anyone says, out beat an jedi a million times plus one always over all of your attacks and get the girl!

A Jedi would win without a fight due to his mind control abilities.
Chuck Norris will kick both their butts!!
