I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I was able to find my Witcher I save files but being that I don't have it installed I was not sure how far in the game one those files are.

I notice that the nomenclature includes location and date. My last save (by date) reads Village 06/03/2009.sav

So my questions are these:

Is it possible to know how far in the game I am in that save file, without re-installing the game? (maybe by comparing the name with other save files you may have).

Also, can I import this save file even if it's not at the end of the game in the Witcher 2?.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The saves named 'village' are from CH IV. Those likely won't do, too early on
Mine did not work until I saved in the Ice plains area in the epilogue.
y is CDP not responding to this issue??? y should I be required to save game at a particular point

So it seems I'm left with playing the game without my save games.

Well, that's my luck.

If I had known back then that they were planning to make a sequel and that it would support old save files/ profiles I would had taken extra measures to back up those files.

Thank you very much to all of you who took the time to reply.

I don't know if you are interested but if you were you could use one of the save files that folks posted on the boards. You could probably find one reflecting the choices you made in your game.
Ok I will check them out, thanks a lot.

Dear Friends

What will happen when I will start new game with The Witcher 1 save game import?
I will have my Geralt with all abbilities learned from The Witcher 1 and weapons or something else?

What are the differences between starting new game and new game with import save game from The Witcher 1?

Best regards.

Sincerely

Hi,

Geralt's armor and his swords are carried over. Besides that i'd expect that as the game progressses some of the choices you made on the first game will also be reflected, be it in the way other characters react to Geralt or something like that, but i haven't played enough into the game to know for sure.
Dear Friends

So anybody played with save game import options?
What it will do in this case?
Inventory, weapons, sign abbilities from The Witcher 1?
I will be glad if someone will reply :)
Thank you in advance.

Best regards.

Sincerely
Sorry I was no able to use my save games but it seems it only imports some weapons (not all) and armor (raven I think). Also some of the decisions you made and people you interacted with may appear in this sequel.
