Gee, CDPR, thanks for the nerfs. Good job listening to the "OMGOMGOMGOMGGAMEISTOOEASY" whiners.

God damn it, what the bloody FUCK does it matter how difficult the game is when there is no multiplayer or PvP? Fuck's sake, if you feel too powerful, don't use mutagens, don't use potions, don't use bombs, don't use signs, don't use swords, and fight naked with a soup ladle!

What the FUCK is wrong with feeling power in the game's final chapter? It's enough that you are stripped of all your abilities in the beginning - "Never saw anyone move that fast" my ass, now you have nothing to look forward to in the endgame. And never mind that adrenaline abilities are taken away for the Dragon and Letho fight, effectively stripping you of your most powerful skills, now you also get shafted during normal fights as well.

Signs, jesus fucking christ, signs already sucked a DICK in TW2 compared to TW1, lethargic little blasts that my grandmother could outrun, and she's DEAD! Quen was the only saving grace of the mage path, and now that got shafted too. Thank you, thank you very goddamn much.

Yes, I am livid and I am ranting, but you know what? Maybe you should've concentrated on fixing the fucking control issues (of which there's no mention in the changelog STILL) instead of implementing nerfs that almost nobody asked for.
Easy, there, Koschay. To respond in line with your reasoning: if you feel the game is too difficult with the so-called 'nerfs,' turn it down to Easy and download some god mods. (Or use a mod like Better Combat to make the Signs more dynamic and useful.)

After patch 1.3 I can no longer access my "options" tab in the launcher. It crashes, gives me an error then restarts the launcher. I've tried rebooting, etc, etc. Not sure what gives. Anyone else having this problem as well?
I don't have any mods installed and this is a GoG.com download that was patched to 1.2.
Here is a copy of the error file.

So, it seems after the 3rd or 4th restart, the options tab works now. Not sure what was going on there. Another thing I noticed, is that in Act 3 when you enter Philipa's rooftop with the chest, that for some reason, your boots get taken off and put back into your inventory. Very strange. Also, when fighting Saesenthessis on the rooftop, your steel sword doesn't show up on your back even though it is there in your inventory.

There still is easy mode, if the game's too hard for you. Your pride doesn't allow playing a game on easy? Too bad, you'll have to stick with ranting instead.

Hard's supposed to be hard and at least the second half of the game wasn't. Same goes for normal - instead of becoming more challenging (or at least keep the initial challenge), the second half of the game was just slaughtering weak 'opponents'.

Signs are not too weak at all. Yyrden is indeed very powerful against most enemies, taking single targets completely out of combat, making them easy prey. Fully skilled Aard and Igni are awesome, too. Quen was just waaaaaay overpowered and, imho, took away all of the thrill - thus many players ignored the spell completely, or at least refused to put skillpoints in it in order to not make it even more powerful. Getting the adrenaline finisher by casting 2-3 igni was a joke - the finisher is way too mighty, to be so easily triggered.

Did the thought ever occur to you, that CDPR themselves weren't completely satisfied with the balance and made the changes of their own?
A game becoming easier and easier is not ideal in terms of learning curve and motivation - not at all.
So..

Where are these aspect ratio fixes and stuff? If anything, this patch seems to have removed options for 6028x1080 (not that it worked previously, but atleast I got the game itself on my main monitor instead of out on the right hand side9.

Will I have to find some config files and edit them myselfs?

Actually what CDPR did this time regarding rebalance the game difficulty? Is any specific area that they tweaked? I don't know, but i feel the game now is harder compared to previous patch.

NeroTulip: I don't know if people from CD project read this, but there seems to have been a pretty huge (undocumented AFAIK) adrenaline nerf?

Using magic, the adrenaline bar seems to fill much slower than it used to. Was that a volontary change and I missed it? A bug?

CDP_RED_Team: Yes, it's a balance fix that apparantly didn't make it into the changelog. It will make a difference in later stages of the game where Geralt felt too powerful due to adrenaline skills.

Adrenaline is nerfed? What about adrenaline in the other trees? How much it was nerfed?

MAybe I am dumb, but what resolution is 6028x1080? CDPR listed 4:3, 5:4, and 16:10 fixes in addition to the existing 16:9.

Its Eyefinity/Surround pretty much, so more than one screen. In my case its three screens, and while previously that didnt work either atleast I got it on my main monitor instead of the one on the right. But fixed that by adding the viewport settings to the user.ini and by using thewitcher2.exe instead of the launcher.

But thats a bit beside the point I guess. I kinda want the resolution, and aspect ratio settings into the launcher :)

So ... did a clean reinstall and the game updated itself to version 1.3. Everything is fine so far, very fine if I may say so.
(The faulty patch routine with the standalone patches is a bummer, really.)

But, in the rendered cutscenes throughout the game I noticed a very disturbing flickering of the displayed text. Anyone else got that too?
It's a minor flaw, but maybe it's worth mentioning.

I just can say, thank you CDPR for that enormous patch! :)

It's triple 1920x1080 with additional pixels added to make up for the monitors' frames I guess (so that the picture isn't split behind the frames, but kind of 'continues' behind the frames).
Thanks.

I feel sad. I only have one monitor..................................

:-)
the issue with "incompatible game version" is solved in my case.
made a clean re-install, downloaded patch 1.1 from my game account page then manually installed 1.2 and 1.3 and installed them aswell. Everything works as a charm!

Whatever. That is YOUR opinion and YOURS only, and it isn't worth a sackful of shit to me. How about this: if your e-peen feels too small during the endgame, don't upgrade your armor, don't upgrade your swords, don't buy adrenaline skills and play on Insane. See what I did there?
