227: Did you try the .ini fix in the first post?

Highlancer: Erm, any news or info about the Steam version of the game? :) (here's hoping for a non-9GB update for a game).

227: I heard--and this is just a rumor--that the new patch won't require people to download the entire thing again. That's just what I've heard and it could be totally untrue, so don't hold me to that.
.ini fixed worked, but obviously not intended. I don't know how they missed this in QA but I expect they'll release a Patch 1.3a soon to correct the issue.

*scrolling past your Fluff discussion*

I was removing my HUD mods and noticed a new dzip called "elf_flotsam". When you unzip it, it contains sex scene files - any idea what this is? It could be the elf patch mentioned in changelog, tho.
I don't know if people from CD project read this, but there seems to have been a pretty huge (undocumented AFAIK) adrenaline nerf?

Using magic, the adrenaline bar seems to fill much slower than it used to. Was that a volontary change and I missed it? A bug?
Does anyone have the stolen dreams in their extras? I know I should since my saves are from Iorveth's path, and I seem to have all of the animated cutscenes, but none of those dream sequences. I want to watch Iorveth muse over carrots :(

Hey, there were absolutely no spoilers in that exchange, for the record.

Also, how do you know the difference between normal files and sex scene files? :O

That file should have always been there, I think. It's only omitted in specific, censured versions of the game (AU, perhaps?); where they've basically removed or hidden the related sex scene. Succubus.dzip is another file that does the same, but for the succubus romp, of course. Bottom line, these files enable these specific sex scenes, and these files do not come with censured versions of the game.

I like to stay safe ;)

The files in question are named

cs_sex_after_scar.w2cutscene
cs_sex_do_mix3.w2cutscene
cs_sex_start_she_shy.w2cutscene

Whoops, posted too late.
@Kindo

Oh, I see. Got me confused for a second.

I was just about to report this as well; it doesn't seem like the dream sequences are unlocked, as was advertised. Probably an easily-fixed oversight, but still.

Yes, it's a balance fix that apparantly didn't make it into the changelog. It will make a difference in later stages of the game where Geralt felt too powerful due to adrenaline skills.

It seems to be unpredictable, as well. I have a bunch of different saves in folders so I can tell which are which, and when I have no saves where Aryan lived in the save folder, the "Aryan La Valette Survives" cutscene is still available.

So I shouldn't mention the scene where Geralt rips off his face and it's actually Foltest in disguise? Okay, I'll remember to not do that.

dregger: redownloading and reinstalling from scratch. got the "incompatible game version" error when trying to apply the 1.2-1.3 patch, or any other patch for that matter. Had problem with the troll dlc on 1.1 when that came aswell, so something is funky with my install :/ Hope this will sort it out.
what I wrote in another thread:

yayodeanno: so, I need to dl the 1.3 patch manually from the site for the GOG version of the game? (just did a fresh reinstall)
avatar
Aaden: Yes, for a fresh reinstall get the Patch 0 -> 1.3 patch from http://www.thewitcher.com/patch1-3/
Didn't work, said game incomplete or wrong version. I had to download patch 1.1 via GOG Downloader, apply it, then the game updated itself to 1.2 (I think, it downloaded a patch all by itself but no info on what it actually was), then I had to dl the 1.2->1.3 patch and apply it manually.

Urge to mod Geralt's face to look like Tom Cruise rising.
With 3D Vision the Indoor performance was fixed but the shadows got broken with this patch. Any chance you are going to address that? I thought you guys worked with Nvidia on this? I would like to point out that my retail box has the 3D Vision Ready logo on it and the game is definitely not 3D Vision Ready...

Thanks for the answer ;)

Indeed adrenaline was ridiculous before, I guess I'll have to adapt to a more difficult game!
How exactly do I install this patch? I just got around to installing the game and the launcher offered no updating options. I manually downloaded the 1.1 patch through the gog.com site, which installed fine but where do I get the 1.2 patch? The official 1.0 > 1.3 patch from www.witcher.com did not install on 1.0 , as the installer claimed that "Installed game version is invalid or incomplete".

Patch 1.2

I have a theory that GOG versions don't work from 1.0 because of the day-one patch. Just a theory, though.
