The fix is working perfectly, thanks a lot for posting it.
As soon as the official forum is back, it should be pinned.
I had the same problems with TW1 and couldn't find a solution. Now i have a lot of crash inside Flotsam too , i'll try it and tell you if it works. Thanks.

I dont see this problem resolved in the patch notes, I've tried to play on but it's impossible.
Just became a member to say after being stuck just before entering the town with CTD's. I used this fix and it worked no problem.....Thanks StewartR

Question:

This fix also worked for me, but performance in heavy scenes has decreased. I alt tabbed and the game is using less RAM, it never goes above 980 mb when before it was around 1.5gb. Why?
Enabling 3GB Switch definately causes problems, not worth doing for one game, I just hope this issue is fixed with a patch soon.
I'm running a win7 64bit so this 3GB is useless, not to mention that it's effectiveness on the 32bit systems is questionable at best.

Still getting the crash.

What I can say is that I think it's caused by the Texture Downscaling. When I got the game I played it without any crashes, with the patch 1.1 and 1.2, but when I found out that Texture Downscaling is supposed to be set to None in order to get better visuals, I did so and that's when I started getting the crashes.

If anyone wants to play the game and doesn't mind not getting the max graphics (which aren't going to run on most computers anyways without lag) then set the Texture Downscaling to Low or preferably High and the game should run fine even if you enable Ubersampling since it isn't related to the crash at all.
