Alot of previews I've read were worried that in the preview version of the game that you could not save the game when you wanted and instead there was a checkpoint system. I was wondering if that is still true for the final version if anyone knows how saving the game works in the the Witcher 2?

According to the manual, you can save whenever you want. There are also autosaves.
Thank you VoodooEconomist for your swift reply :)
Thank goodness as I was having nightmare flashbacks to my Fable 3 savegame getting destroyed near the end of the game! Checkpoint systems are good most times for games that want choices to mean something but in the game like the witcher the choices are so bountiful I would have to replay 20 times to get my perfect game but saying that even with the save system being normal I'm still sure I'll be replaying at least 4 times :P Anyway thanks for being a constant presence in the forum VoodooEconomist though I'm sure your just trying to distract yourself from the collectors edition that is within your hands but you can't play yet :P

Glad to be of service!

To be honest I'm much more distracting myself from finishing my bachelor's thesis... But I hope to finish before the game premieres ^.^
Well thanks anyway :) And good luck :)
