Could you please tell me what's your operating system? I'm kinda starting to wonder if its only Windows 7 users that have problems with importing save-files?

I'm running Windows 7 64bit
Yes, I'm running Windows 7, 64bit as well and I'm having the same save-file issues.

I'm running Windows 7 64bit
Win 7 64bit
My old save was made under winXP 32 bit, and I'm running Win 7 64 bit.

The game don't detect my saves.
I'm on WIn7 64 bit and the save import worked without any problems.

I have TW EE currently installed btw.

the new save folder is called gamesaves and is under "username" - my documents - witcher 2 on win 7 64 bit.

I placed my saves there, and now I can import without a problem.

I'm running Win7 also but forgot to put my completed Witcher_1 save in the saves directory since I replayed the game I only had Chapter 1 saves there...once I added my end game save the option to import it was available. Neat, I now have the Raven Armor and my best witcher swords plus misc pots etc. I got robbed though I use to have over 35,000 orens now almost 500.
Turns out the problem was with my save-files. I installed TW1 again and loaded the latest save from my old playthrough, an autosave called Order of the Flaming Rose. I then entered the door into the Ice Fields and manually saved the game there. TW2 was able to detect that file and now I can play. :)
Must I complete TWEE before I can import my characters to W2? I've a save somwhere near to chapter 4. When I ran W2, I cannot see any TWEE savegame file to import.
Confirming with Dead_Fish as well, save in the Ice Fields and Witcher 2 will recognize your save file from Witcher 1.

Thanks Dead_Fish !!!
By the way... Someone noticed that the site "www.thewitcher.com" is stuck and is not possible to register the game (It could help to solve at least a part of the troubles)?

I have the same OS yet my save imported without a hitch
not working for me, win7 64, I have the order of the flaming rose save and various icefields saves but it's not finding them :( any idea?

To clarify, the game finds them (it opens the files) but it still gives me the "unavailable" error, note the saves are from the steam version of the witcher

I thought that might be the problem too, but I did the same and the problem persists. :(
Windows 7 64 bit
Did re-save on the Ice Plains, even played through them and saved in the Order again, to no avail.
I also asked another person to load them and resave on their machine, same effect,

:(
