Overall, I think TW2 was/is a great game. Sure it had some initial flaws and may have a few remaining ones from the posts currently on Gog but the visuals (even on medium) are superb and in my opinion it is miles beyond similar RPG recent releases. The only gripe I have is that it short and that may be because of the amount of space necessary to run it due to the live action character interactions (sorry, can't think of a better way to put the conversations between characters, the 'movie' aspects of the game).
One of the things I loved about TW1 was the sense of adventure and ability to explore and cover a lot of ground. There were, what, 5 acts? And I felt I was a pretty competent player of TW1 but it still took me several weeks/a month to finish, played at a casual rate as I'm a casual gamer who likes to play games for the fun of it not for the intensity of adrenaline pumping through me when I'm in the midst of battle. Don't get me wrong, I don't want it easy, just challenging and not so darn difficult that I have to lower the difficulty setting to get past a boss after I've gotten killed twenty + times.
One aspect of a lot of the games out now and including this one is that it seems that games are becoming a LOT more intense in that, yes, though I'm in the middle of a battle, I'd like to enjoy the battle and not be so overwhelmed with the battle. And have to hang on for dear life to beat five drowners. Part of the fun, for me, in a game is that it is a GAME not a fight simulator where I've gotta be fighting for my life to even make it through some scenarios . . . I didn't feel that way with TW1 and though I think that game began to feel way too easy farther into it the game was still loads of fun and was the best single player RPG to come out in 2007/2008; TW2 lost some of the 'fun' appeal for me in that it was a cliff-haning experience just to stay alive let alone conquer your foe in a lot of common fights/battles.
A lot of people will probably criticize my above mentioned comment but I think that if one wants to increase the level of challenge and/or difficulty one can increase the level of difficulty depending on one's experience and desire. Easy/Medium/Hard/Insane, whatever fits your playing style. I just found that this game was exteremely challenging from the get-go and it lost a little of its appeal for me when I consider the immersion/long story/multiple lengthy quest of the first Witcher game. I loved having to go to town, solve a puzzle, travel and fight while I'm trying to finish a quest. This game's quests were too short and the sense of adventure, for me, was far less than the orginal.
I'd love it if a couple of expansions were released which would allow us to continue playing the game with a few more decent sized quests extending beyond the already existing acts . . . I'd love that and would definitely purchase anything if they came out.
Now that I've completed it, I miss the game and REALLY wish less emphasis was placed on the dialogue and cut-scens and allowed us to have more to do for a longer period of time. Any chances of that happening???

Did you play the whole game or only ONE side of it? Because you haven't seen half of the game yet, if you haven't played the other side. ;)
Not sure what you mean by one side?
Gotcha, thanks for the feedback -- I think I understand now. I'll try the other side out, forgot about that and, yup, that will add a lot to the game! Thanks again!

Have fun - which side didn't you play yet? Just curious... ;)

Choosing between Roche and Iorveth for the 'At the Crossroads' decision. This changes your Act II rather considerably, and your Act III somewhat.

Recommendation for next DLC to make the game even longer:

---Siding with Letho

SPOILER ALERT:

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

That would also add serious repercussions in Witcher 3 (not to mention the entire Witcher 2 universe). Plus, it would make it more sense NOT to kill Letho at the end of the game.
Roche's . . . it'll be fun to revist and pick up from there!

Ha! That is a good idea -- definitly change the story's outcome with that . . .

Indeed it would. But I gotta tell ya, if this particular DLC is ever gonna be made, it would be HUGE. It alters so many things in the game it might also be dubbed as expansion, IMHO.

There's already a few threads on this topic. when they get the forums up, sometime in early August, you can talk about it there.

At this point I almost don't care anymore whether or not there's ever gonna be an official forum. I've warned them many times to shut down that disgusting Disqus at the very least, but apparently my voice was not loud enough.

Now would you look at their website and comment board? It's a heart-breaking painful! And is getting quadruple worse every f**king minutes.
GoG has a pretty good forum. they can thank their lucky stars they had it to fall back on. CDPR has a lot of shit on their plate right now, which is why I think they should can the console version and focus on getting the pc version up to par, their forums running, and their lawsuit settled. The console kiddies should be last on their list.

Agreed on ALL points, mate!
Couldn't have said it better myself.
