Velvetmeds: What merits? Witcher 2 has no merits. It's the definition of flawed
Oh boy, not liking the game is 1 thing, but making statements like that just makes you another troll.
I like the KOTAKU review the most, has it own unique style. I also like that they didn't give it a metric/score. I don't know if that's how they do it usually, but anyway the idea is worth spreading.

I find myself agreeing with your sentiment. I'll just throw in a link here:

Editors Choice. I think they liked it. ;)
In the episode Barricade i'm stuck. Tthe ballista doesn't work and I just get re-spawns of the guards. I have no clue what's up here.
If The Witcher 2 was the exact same game but had Bioware or Bethesda on the box or was published by Rockstar I would put money on it having a Metacritic 5% higher than it currently does.

I love most of Bioware and Bethesda's games but they really do get an easy time from western reviewers concerning faults and game bugs

Exactly true. The big names get the kid-glove treatment. Always have.

That's a nice review by Kotaku, I agree.

Pretty detailed review.
Next up is Gamer.no - probably the most popular gaming-related website in Norway.

9/10

"There are clearly minor things that could have been better. That the game eventually becomes too easy is perhaps the most unfortunate of these elements, but it hardly matters in the big picture. The Witcher 2 is pure quality throughout. From the very first minute, you are drawn into Geralt's journey and everything from the story, the characters and their dialouges, to the combat system, the role playing game elements and the artistic impressions all come together to create one of the very best gaming experiences you will play this year."

"You won't get any tutorial where you kill rats in the basement of the tavern. Instead, you're expected to resort to an ancient real-world relic known as "The Manual". The Witcher 2 has a game to get to and it can't be bothered holding your hand. Like I said: tough, but fair. Consider it the price of admission to one of the most memorable and best written fantasy video games you'll ever play."
