I've got his bug aswell, and unlike you, i can't play the game with it. My no. 1 hate in videogames is texture pop-ins, and i've never them quite this bad.

Looks like a gorgeous game, but i really can't get past the magical pop-ins. If you ever find a way to solve this or at least lessen it, i'd be very appreciative if you could inform me.

Yeah, I understand. Don't worry, if I stumble across a fix of sorts, I'll naturally add a reply here.
Got the same problem as everyone here.....I'm looking for answers too. It happened at the beginning of the chapter 2.

Hi all, I've been playing The Witcher 2 for some time now (just reached the beginning of Act 3), but I've been experiencing this exact same problem of this "radius of high quality textures" where objects and terrain seems to just magically pop into view when Geralt comes within a few feet.. The most obvious offenders are rocks and grass.

It's hard to believe a game known for its graphical fidelity has this problem and none of the reviews seem to make any mention of it. Don't get me wrong, the game looks phenomenal except for this very irritating and immersion-killing issue.

Sorry to bump up a rather dated thread, but has anyone stumbled across of any fix of sorts? And yes, the problem bugged me enough to create an account and make my first post, but it's a great community from what I've seen and I'm here to stay. :)
Have we heard anything else from CDP about this? I can't believe its been a year and we are still having this issue!
bump
Having same issues. So Annoing.

Dear Kindo,

Yesterday I read your thread for the first time and especially the part where you show us the correspondence of the developers from the witcher inspired me to open an other topic at the Witcher 2 support site and to email the Witcher 2 support as well.

I just want to give you the link to my topic, you might want to respond or reply as well. All extra feedback will be awesome. http://en.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?/topic/34858-lod-distance/page__gopid__964949#entry964949

Btw I used some of your movie links and stuff in my post, I hope you dont mind, I needed them to show people what the exact problem is that we are experiencing.

Thanks again! and I hope you will visit my thread to !

I was surprised to see there had been a reply to this old thread. I'll look into your new topic, in case there's something I can add, but to be honest, I've more or less given up on this ever being fixed. As for the videos, you're more than free to link to them when prudent. The only reason they are unlisted is because they were intended only for specifically showcasing this issue both to CDPR and other players (especially those who seem to think this problem is not real); no reason to have them publicly floating around Youtube. ;)
I know it's an old thread... But as of 2014 I am having kind of the same issues. The pop ins are not so close as in the videos, but some are definitely there.

Also some strange lighting effects where some shadows appear when I get close to them.

I really hope CD Project stops fucking up these things. I read a lot on the internet about this and seems that it was introduced with a patch, which introduced even more bugs. I hope that for The Witcher 3 it comes out good.
