The notice boards infront of pubs in the game where you can take contracts, is this information stored anywhere or do you just have to remember it ?

If i remember correctly in Witcher 1 if the notice was taken it was actually stored in the inventory.

The quests are added to your quest journal.

Does the 1.1 patch fix this issue by any chance ?

It's not really an issue.

Though you do lose information about Bartholomew if you "take" the contract, as it doesn't start a quest by itself.
