Jebu: Another thread had this (speaking of user.ini file):

I added Invert=1 to the [MouseInput] section, inverted my mouse fine for me. Mind the Capital I in Invert.

[MouseInput]
SensitivityX=0.5
SensitivityY=0.5
Smoothness=1
Invert=1
Thank you. Much appreciated.

Pioneer161: I've looked in the config.ini, the game options and launcher options and no dice on inverted mouse... I don't really want to retrain myself; anyone else find a solution?
To invert the mouse's Y Axis, open the user.ini file found in ....\Documents\Witcher2\Config\, and change the MouseSensitivityY to a negative number

Example
MouseSensitivityY=0.1234
becomes
MouseSensitivityY=-0.1234

/cheers

M

P.S. I tried the Invert=1 option but it didn't work (and yes, I had replaced my negative number back to its positive value beforehand). Has it worked for anyone?

If you want to invert either the Y or the X axis for your gamepad, these are the lines you need to change in your user.ini file:

IK_Pad_RightAxisX=(GameKey="GI_AxisRightX",Value=1)
IK_Pad_RightAxisY=(GameKey="GI_AxisRightY",Value=1)

Change the values to -1 if you want the axis inverted.
You guys forget to mention that those so called "Invert Y fixes" will mess up the menu system.

This better be fixed right now! I have been playing inverted for 20 years and this is the first time I encounter a pure PC game without that option.

I'm sorry CDP, but leaving that out, is simply WRONG!

Thank you, I'll try this once I get home.
Just adding my voice to this concern...

Thanks to those posting temporary workarounds however this should be addressed quickly, the most awaited game of the year for me is currently unplayable!!

I urge anyone viewing this topic for a fix to register and add a comment, I'm sure with enough support the devs will listen!

Export: Geralt is not an aeroplane. I know this is an incredibly unhelpful response, but why do people use inverted controls in non-flight sims anyway? It's just a bad habit to get into that can backfire, as in this case.
avatar
Pioneer161: Heh I'll give the answer I usually do:
You lean forward to look down, and lean back to look up. Hence moving the mouse up to look down and vice versa. To me, it makes sense. I use non-inverted for flight sims as I feel like the camera is flying.
100% agree.

Can't deal with non inverted, feels weird, game is unplayable for me without it.

The change to MouseSensitivityY to a negative value will *only* affect the camera. The menus & dialog options all work properly.

Thought you should know :)

Man I hope this works, will be trying it when I get home!
I´m trying to do it, but it doesn´t work! The only user.cgf that i find is inside bin/config folder. Is it that one??? I´m running desperate with this!

Capitalization counts, I believe. Could that be what's wrong?
I can´t find the line MouseSensitivity. This is what it shows up in my user file:

[Engine]
CustomRenderingSettings=0
PerformancePlatform=1

[Input]
KeyboardLayout=QWERTY

[MouseInput]
SensitivityX=0.5
SensitivityY=0.5
Smoothness=1

[Rendering]
AllowAntialias=1
AllowBloom=1
AllowBlur=1
AllowCutsceneDOF=0
AllowDOF=1
AllowDecals=1.0
AllowMotionBlur=0
AllowRain=1
AllowSSAO=1
AllowScatterDOF=0
AllowShafts=1
AllowSharpen=1
AllowVignette=1
AtlasTextureDownscale=0
DanglesLimiter=0
DetailTextureDownscale=0
Fullscreen=1
MaxAtlasTextureSize=2048

I have changed the sensitivity to a negative value without result.
I've played tons of space & flight sims as a kid, and as a result I pull back in order to look up. Simple as that. I've been playing my 3D games with inverted mouse since Duke Nukem 3D (which required some tweaking to get that before patches) and there's no going back.

Whether it's a 3rd person action / RPG or a 1st person shooter, it's invert all the way for me. Even the shittiest console ports have invert option, why not a PC game?

Yes, please patch inverted mouse into the game, as with many others I always have played games using the inverted mouse and it feels so awkward without it!

Ok, I think I know what's going on. It seems the game won't put the tokens if you don't change the defaults ingame first. So either change the mouse sensitivity ingame once then exit and check if the MouseSensitivityY is there.

If not, add the following lines under the [MouseInput] section of the user.ini
[MouseInput]

MouseSensitivityX=0.261538
MouseSensitivityY=-0.163462

You'll probably have to adjust the settings to your liking a few times as those numbers for the way I'm used to the mouse sensitivity.
