Hey, I decided to download The Witcher 2, and while left-clicking allows me to skip the opening cutscene, the mouse straight up doesn't work after that. In fact, neither does my controller. I'm able to use my mouse again upon alt-tabbing out, but going back into the game renders it inoperable again. The menus are working fine, as evidenced by the moving backgrounds, but no inputs are being received, and I can't do anything.

There are some bugs with controls in Witcher 2. Is the mouse working in the menu when you press Esc?

A guy in another forum got it working by editing Witcher's user.ini file. MAybe it helps in your case too.
- Go to the Witcher folder under My Documents and look for config\user.ini
- Open user.ini with any text editor
- Set: useMouseDamp=true
- Save and run the game

Make sure you're opening User.ini in C:\Users\<Your Username>\Documents\Witcher 2\config
Look for the [MouseInput] section and add it there

[MouseInput]
...
UseMouseDamp=true

One problem could be, that you're running the game with another user, thus another User.ini is used.
Browse to the correct user and edit the User.ini there
C:\Users\<Your Username>\Documents\Witcher 2\config
