rivo101: Post ideas for mods in here:)

Ill start

I would like to have a mod where the timer on the dead bodies is increased so they hang around for longer:)
or adjustable timer (can't find the loot) -maybe add the neat firefly effect from the herbs or something or different color

I'd do it myself but I was born dumb!!
Is it possible to make a mod that toggles the name of anything interactable above it like the Witcher 1? It's driving me nuts trying to figure out what can be looted, who can be talked to, what can be interacted with... I know I can press Z to use the medallion but it has a cooldown, isn't as effective as the Witcher 1 names, and makes you quit actions to use it.

Also, a mod that puts a cursor like the first game so you know what you're clicking on would be nice too!
I don't know if it is possible but i would love a New Game + mod. Getting some really good equipment at the very end of the game but only being able to use it in a few battles disappointed me a bit. Also if the game was harder / enemies were scaled to your level would be a nice bonus :D!
I agree that the prices at the merchants are ridiculous. Add to that, that there's no buy-back button as long as you're in the window, since on account of baaaaad inventory usability, you might end up with unwanted stuff and dead broke.

So I'd really like a mod that balances the prices. What you get for your hard earned stuff is laughable. Roleplaywise, it would be nice to be able to make a living off of selling potions or crafted items.

And I would also like a mod for getting (at least) double talents, for one of my later playthroughts, just to be able to try out more abilities and just have fun.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've seen a lot of requests here that are more likely subject to be patched by the devs on one hand and very unrealistic things like whole new models on the other hand. Without the devs giving us the old Geralt head model and a SDK, the modding capabilities are very limited as of now. I also don't see a possibility to mod in a cursor. Stay realistic people, and don't be dissappointed when modders can't work miracles. ;)
I think this is an important Mod that shouldn't have to be a Mod:
1.) Start off with the ability to hit multiple enemies in a single swing.
I did unlock this early on in the game, but still, it shouldn't be a skill in order to hit something already in the path of your sword :/ Its like saying my stick goes through a tree when I'm trying to hit a friend with it because I don't have the necessary skill to hit the tree...
Might be here already.
Disable the esc key opening the menu during conversations...
Hey I was googling around and I was trying to figure out if their was a mod for playing after the epilogue? Possibly go back to the different chapters?
+1 on cursor targeting..that would make it SO much easier to attack/loot
Probably been said already but having no talent/mutagen reset option is the #1 issue I've had with this game so far, second would be having to meditate to use potions - prefer they were usable real time and in combat from your item slots.
Here is what I miss from the original Witcher - almost everything.
1. The UI - it was ornate, easy to see, easy to use and seemed to fit right in with the medieval feel of the game. I miss the little bottles in the alchemy section! I miss the meditation timer! Am I silly? Perhaps. But I find the new UI completely devoid of character and it absolutely does not mesh well with the game. It's ugly.
2. I miss watching Geralt apply oil to his sword. It was an immersive animation.
3. I really hate having to meditate to use a potion.
4. The text is bright orange and on the side of the screen. I miss the text choices being below the action in a clearly defined area. White for new choices, grey for those you've already picked.
5. Where is my blue/green/red target circle that would appear on the ground!?
6. What happened to the little icons? The mouth...the door...the hand. They gave the game character.
These are just a few of the things I miss from the original game. I'm honestly having trouble getting used to the new game - how it looks, the combat, even looting is not the same.
Bottom line - If I could have a mod that restored the original UI, restored the target circles, moved the text to the bottom of the screen, showed Geralt drinking potions and using oil on his sword because he did not have to meditate,, and gave me back some icons with character, I would be happy.
As it stands, I've gone back to playing the original Witcher.
*** I read that there is no storage. Seriously, no more innkeeper to hold items??
Add to my list - give me back the innkeeper storage or something equivalent...lol.
RQ: No Vigor required for blocking cuz it really sux and it's really annoying that any other creature/npc can block constantly and you need vigor to do it.
Personally, I'd like a mod to pause potions timer during cutscenes, conversations, etc.
I know there's already a mod to make potions last longer, but I don't like it: going from 10mn to 1 hour is a total imbalance, IMO. It doesn't just get you through the cutscene, it really ruins the point of having time-limited potion effects. I like the new potion system, the fact that you have to drink ahead of a big fight, etc.
It's just would be helpful if the timer wasn't still running during cutscenes, they're really nice, you shouldn't have to skip them. Anybody know how to do that?
EDIT: True, with the potion duration mod you can actually tweak to any duration, but still, that's not to my taste...
Lack of a new game + was really disappointing. This should be a standard feature in RPGs. I would at least like to keep my level.
Has anyone found access to the console? Maybe there's a way to set your level?
I don't know if this has been posted yet but I would like a mod to make bodies stay on the ground longer before disappearing.
I would like to see the same perspective (OTS) like in TW1, including the wider FOV. The FOV in TW2 is too narrow, so i stopped playing after 15h, because i couldn't see the world around me properly - i constantly looked around like a one-eyed-man... :(
