Has anyone come out with a save game editor yet?

I know you can decode the save files with Gibbed's RED tools, but editing the resulting file is pretty ridiculous. Has anyone even made sense of those files yet?

Depending on what you want to edit, you should give cheat engine a try...

AkiA: I would like a buff to Raven's armour and Aerondight. :) Gameplaywise it's totally understandable that they aren't that good anymor in the Witcher 2, but lorewise not. :P

Caelistas: Yeah, wasn't Raven armour supposed to be the best witcher armour ever made?
In my fantasy land Twitcher 2 would have less outfits and weapons, similar to the first game. Imported stuff like Ravens armor would be the best stuff you could find, though maybe you could visit the gnomes for quest reasons whereupon they'd point out the hamfisted work that the Order/Scoi'tael/Kalkstein had done when reforging Raven's armor and offer to do the job properly. End result, an upgraded item with better stats and a different look.

One or two armor/weapon upgrades is all a game like this needs, IMO Twitcher 1 was unique by making Witcher equipment specialized and rare.

Twitcher 2 haha. Don't agree with Twitcher 1 though, the game was a lot of point-and-click. But I agree, one or two "upgrade your gear" scheme would be nice. Although, arguably you did do the same thing with Vran armor, but there is no questing involved from Ysgrith to Vran, and it can be done within minutes.
Disabling cut scene finishers.

Not sure if this has been asked, but I would love to have a combat mod that keeps the camera in the same distance as when you have the weapon sheathed. Also, I don't know if it would work with TW2's combat, but how about making the camera fixed on Geralt's back during combat? A similar one to what they did with Gothic 4.

I think it would be more immersive that way. The way it is now once I enter the combat mode it feels like I'm playing a different game (still really like it though).
There is a big, interesting mod out there? Also CDP is planning to release a SDK ?
I would like a mod to be able to change out mutagens at will
What about choosing the looks of the sword that I am crafting?
Preferably by using the sword that's model I want to preserve, as optional ingredient.
I'm a sucker for appearances and I think Geralt's best appearance is the one in the concept art image.
I know some people agree with me and have made mods that retex the dragonscale armor to match the one in the concept art image, but I think they didn't do a thorough job. Why?
Because they didn't retex the pants and the boots.
I can't help myself thinking: they did a really good armor and gloves retex. Why didn't they retex the pants and boots when they're at it?
Is there anyone here agree with me?
Or even better, is there anyone here can do the retex on the pants and boots?
I find this problem frustrating.

I am following the Roche Path for this playthrough and as I change Armor I no longer have the "uniform" of the special forces. Is it possible to just replace the graphics to maintain the Blue Stripes look through the changes in armor by modding? If so, what files would I need to alter or place in the appropriate directories (I will probably finish this playthrough in 1.2.)

Yes, it's fairly simple to mod. The appearances of armor models are all controlled in the file def_item_armor.xml. Opening it up with Notepad (or text editor of your choice), look for the string equip_template="XXXXX" for each armor entry; if you want the armor to carry the look of the Blue Stripes Commando Jacket, this full string should then read equip_template="30_dlc_roche_armor". So like I said, quite easy to do, but it might take some time to do this for all the armors. I'd be happy to whip it up for you, if you really can't be bothered to do it yourself, but then you'd have to tell me if there are any other kind of mods you're using that alter the same file, so that I can make it compatible.

Your instructions were both clear and correct. I was able to change the "hunter's" (raven) armor graphic to look exactlly like the uniform. Since I am not sure whcih armors I may use in the future and it does look like there is a large number to choose from; I will just do them as needed now that I am aware as to how to make this change.

Do you think this will work in 1.3 or other future mods as well?

Again, Thank you.

Great! You're most welcome. :)

That file is indeed changed in 1.3, but the only thing that's different - that I've spotted - is that they've added an entry for what I assume is a dummy armor used for testing (something similar happened with the gloves, in an earlier patch), so your modded def_item_armor.xml file should be perfectly compatible even if you apply the latest patch.
