As the title says.
I've managed to finally d/l all pieces, install run ok, but then there's no launcher.exe (the link on the desktop points to a non-existent file:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\The Witcher 2\Launcher.exe"

It's not there, not anywhere. Any ideas, gents?

anyone has an idea?
sadly gog support seems to be non-existent, or so slow that it might as well be non-existent.

I'm stuck, no idea what to try.

I think I'll never buy from this site again...
Had a similar problem. The installation would freeze at the end, and eventually close on its own without telling me that the installation was complete. When I went to check the game folder, most of the content seemed to be there, and I could see that a desktop shortcut was created, but all the executable files were missing, including the launcher.

After messing around for a while, I decided to turn off the HIPS features of my firewall (Free version of Online Armor) and ran the installation again. This time, some sort of patcher program executed itself at the end of the installation process, and once it was done the game was installed properly and all the exes were present.

Still not sure why my firewall didn't just ask me if I wanted to let the patcher run or not, like it usually does. It's kinda weird and makes me worried that the installation does something shady, but I haven't noticed anything wrong with my system yet.

Anyway, if you have a firewall or an AV with HIPS features, try disabling it during the installation and see if it fixes your problem.
Thanks!
Now that you mention it, there are no executables whatsoever, indeed. The only .exe is the uninstall.

Something is very strange.

Btw my installation finishes w/o errors, (and I've let the installer check the file integrities twice now) and then I am given an option to launch the game at the end - which, inevitably, fails.

I'm running nod32 with the integrated firewall, and it did not say anything, indeed. This can only mean one thing: the program is trying to look out via some other program which is not allowed to have a looksie. (if it has indeed tried to look out)

I'll try to trace it down, I'm not too comfortable to shut down the firewall. Altho the install process itself takes a painfully long time...:(
What a messed up program design!

Thanks again for the idea!

OH FFS

this didn't work either, back to square one :(

I did switch the firewall off, installer finishes w/o problems, then the exe files are missing.

Is there any way to acquire the missing exe files? I'm getting very pissed with this whole thing.

Edit:
Can anyone give me the size of their 2-1.bin file ? (the downloaded installer file)

I've a feeling it's corrupt, regardless what the integrity check says.
Its size is 2,097,639,680 where as the other files are exactly
2,100,000,000
(well, the 2-5 is smaller again...)

yay, after re-downloading the 2-1.bin file, the exe and the witcher_2.bin (these were small anyway) th einstaller now works as -it seems- it should have, and launches some patcher, then a configurator.

This just highlights how bloody unreliable the file servers are.

It's a big bloody disgrace from a company trying to make a living via giving out downloadable content....
To be fair, the problem might not originate from GOG's servers at all. Me and my brother have been using GOG for 2 years and never had any problem with corrupted downloads. We also both downloaded TW2 from GOG and neither of us got corrupted files.

I'm not really an expert on networking and the inner working of the tubes, but I was under the impression that corrupted downloads could be caused by anything between the source and the destination, including said source and destination.
