Policeman: Can someone show me how to quote on here please ?

ps what does rep mean ?
Rep is reputation. I don't know much about it but i do know it have nothing to do with post count and you got to earned it by posting constructive post and solving others problem. I have seen someone with -10 rep (quite rare). Don't know how he can get that minus.

Put mouse over Avatar pic of the person you want to quote, over to the way right hand side above the post you'll see Reply. Click reply and that will create quote for you.

Rep is hard to explain. A lot of things determine rep and it is all determined by the system it self. Don't worry to much about it.
@227 cause i don't see a quote option.

You may be right about my opinions on linear, but i never said i was dissapointed.
i would buy witcher 3 now if it helped to produce it.

I love this game...........please tell me what linear is................and don't tell me its all about choices ffs.
I cant have a rep of 2 i've only posted twice till this thread.

That is how the quoting system works. IF you don't want the quoting chain, you'll have to erase the other quotes yourself.
This thread will go well lol.

Decisions in this game is what makes it non linear. Also the quests for the main storyline are also done in a non linear way, often there are more then 1 quest that needs to be completed and you'll have more then 1 at a time to completed in any order, and some quests have more then 1 part to the quest it self which can be done in different orders. But back to the decisions. Decisions changes the game significantly. You cannot see everything this game has to offer in one play through, it is impossible. With Oblvion, there are no decisions, you have to complete the main storyline in a linear way going in order, and you can see everything the game has to offer in one play through, not to mention you can complete the main storyline at level 2 in about 1 hour.

Policeman: Some of you need to get a new perspective.
Witcher 2 IS linear.
try jumping ffs.

You have no freedom to move between areas = linear.
and there are plenty of other examples.

And i love this game, just make it more free roam please.
What? Ability to jump makes games non-linear? This is the strangest explanation of linearity I've ever heard.

Free roaming is a free roaming. It has nothing to do with being linear or non-linear.

Linear means that if you have a main quest then you have the only way to complete it. If you have a side quest then you have the only right solution to it. It usually has nothing to do with roaming ability, though free roaming may help to implement non-linear scenarios.

For example, you have a quest to obtain an artifact that belongs to someone. Non-linear game will allow you to steal it; or to persuade the owner to give it to you, may be, in exchange for a favor; or kill the owner and take it; or deceive the quest giver; or, may be, get the counterquest from that owner. In the linear game, there will be the only one "right" way to get it. More options you are given for solving quests, more non-linear the game is.

The Witcher 2 is the whole new definition of non-linearity. You have completely different scenarios when you choose some of the branches of how to deal with a given problem. There are no games like the Witcher 2, it is one and only one of a kind.

On the side note: the Witcher 2 doesn't have any FedEx quests, NONE. Just think about the fact that 90% of quests in RPGs are FedEx based. It's not about linearity but it's just an amazing fact.

Oblivion? I like sandbox games yah, but when it comes to RPG's I don't limit myself on one brand. You miss too much.

I thought Oblivion was a good game but it had issues too. Leveling in that game didn't really mean anything when everything else leveled up with you. You don't get powerful because everything is always equal to you.

lol why do I bother on a troll topic

slatearmor: yeh just finished it and here are my thoughts,

this "game" is 95% into graphics, details and cinematics... (it is the part on what the most of budget has been spent on)

the action of gameplay and combat stinks a lot -(GTAIV-style (same 3d engine))

linear and corridor style of gameplay, with invisible walls, no open world, no freedom... *AT ALL*

as an RPG game, it is FAR FAR FAR from the level of richness, freedom and quality of Elder's Scrolls: IV Oblivion , it beats oblivion only in graphics and visual details (not gameplay)

i will not look into witcher 3..

in the history of this world, there has been ONLY ONE rpg game: ES IV: OBLIVION, and i really hope Skyrim will meet the same quality...
Everyone is welcome to their own opinion and I have no interest in flaming or being flamed but could someone please explain to me the obsession with Oblivion?
I am a huge RPG fan but for me Oblivion was one of the most boring, pointless, lifeless video game I have every played.
I even tried getting the expansions hoping that I had misjudged the game. Same thing: Hour after hour meandering around hacking bots (and I know, I know: FREEDOM, freedom to hack the good bots, freedom to hack the bad bot, freedom to hack both, its epic man!!)
I just don't get it...

PS- the game did have Sean Bean doing voice work, Richard Sharpe is a bad-ass
