Hello

I'm new to GOG - have been using Steam for some time and I just found out out about GOG.. so far I understand the basics of how GOG works.. buying/downloading etc

There is something I don't understand and I'm a bit worried.. when I'm on Steam the client sorts out updates/patches etc

I've read patch 1.2 for The Witcher 2 (which I purchased a few days ago from GOG) is needed as their was a problem with registering - do you need to register for the game to work??

How do I know if the version of The Witcher 2 that I am downloading from GOG contains the patch , is there like a version number you can see.. and if it doesn't have it then how do get and apply the patch??

I intend to use the GOG download program when I get round to downloading the games I purchased. I hope someone can clarify this as I'm a bit confused and worried.

Thanks in advance.

No need to worry . The Enhanced Edition (3.0 Ptch) is way past the 1.2 patch. Once installed then run the launcher and it should offer to download and install the latest patches (3.1 and 3.2). If not then make sure to give the launcher access through your firewall . You can register the game if you choose to or not but is not mandatory.
