Hi guys thanks for the help.

I can't get the game to run ok even on the lowest specs with the extras turned off! Lag from when I puse E or move the mouse. I just got a new Windows 8 PC 5 months ago... not a high-end computer but it should run the game ok right?
I haven't been savvy about computers since around 10 years ago so here are my specs
If the specs are ok, can I tweak my computer settings to get better results?

Do you have the latest Catalyst drivers installed? As the computer should run it just fine

EDIT: Looked at the driver version and it seems you aren't.

http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/downloads.aspx

Pick from under the latest HD7000 blablabla drivers subcategory, check the 64bit Windows 8 drivers and try installing them

And also try installing DirectX 9.0c again, maybe there are some libraries missing from your computer

I installed Catalyst from the link provided and updated my DirectX to the newest version but the game doesn't play any better than before, even on the lowest specs
I would appreciate any other helpful ideas.

That card is way below minimum specs.

All you can really do is reduce the resolution down to 1280x720 (or below), run the game windowed, and hope for a miracle.

Thanks. I suck. Any recommendation what I should get to replace it for less than $200? I need a DVI and an HDMI output and I don't know how to check my motherboard to see if it'll fit.

All cards should fit your motherboard, the card is pci-express, all new gpu-s are using pci-express, agp is history

Newegg has a 7850 that will do nicely

The real kicker is that the power supplies from HP suck and are built and shipped with the bare minimum . To be able to upgrade the card you will need to upgrade the power supply as well .

About 250 US for both .
I got this video card Nvidia Geforce gt 640 Superclocked with 2gb memory and this power supply Thermaltake TR2 430 Watt -

So before I open them from the box... are these ok?
Thanks for the help everyone. I installed these things and everything plays great!
