Hello hello hello.
Now, this is my first playthrough of Witcher 2 and I'm loving it. But back to what's important.
Now I want to get my grubby hands on that Caerme Sword in Chapter 3, but to do so I need to complete the Gargoyle Contract.
Problem:
The Quest is broken. Atleast I think it is.
I've bought the 4 rune books, I already had the Gargoyle book from Ch1. Now upon spamming 'read' on all of the 4 rune books in my inventory.
I then am told to find these 3 areas and do that rune disabling business. Which I do. I head on over to one of the 3 areas with the gargoyles, clear it out of enemies, go below ground and then I have ensured I do the correct sequence.
Yes, I am very well aware that there is a specific sequence to follow and there are Six different ways for it to be done. So far I have 2, 5 and 6 or something. The problem is, even though I extinguish the runes in the correct order I get zapped as if I'm doing it wrong.
What the hell?! What's going on?!
I became so damn frustrated that for the heck of it and to double check that I was not making errors I actually tried all the six encrypted rune combinations twice in each area and I am damn well sure I am doing the right combination of extinguishing runes but... but... it won't work. I keep getting zapped! It refuses to work for me!
Is... am I stumped? I'm running Witcher 2 (Latest Patch... which is 2.1 right?) and... well this is driving me insane. Any help would be appreciated. Danke.

Third encrypted rune combination - animal, time, art, sky
Fourth encrypted rune combination - sky, animal, time, art
Fifth encrypted rune combination - art, sky, animal, time

Those are the combinations. I did each of them. Twice. In all 3 areas. I keep getting zapped/injured as if I am doing it incorrectly. The only active quests I have now is "Where is Triss Merigold", " For a Higher Cause!", "Assassins of Kings" & "Gargoyle Contract".
