Did you get the wraith book? Use fire against them, and wraith potions on your sword. And roll around a lot.
Err.. sorry... that was for Melitele's Heart... Train a bit with CoM quest 'cause you'll need it later on!

Trap Spam , since you know where theyll spawn, (throw in a Fury trap or use Axii too), specter oil, dodge, dodge, dodge.

Quen makes everything easier.

You can always come back when youve gained a level or two as well, as long as you dont advance the main quest too far.
In Claws of Madness, I kept on being raped by them, so I just Axiid one of them, and let them fight amongs themselves. Worked every time, and I got the "Wraith trophy". Speaking of that, it says "+5". Does that mean I get +5 damage to wraiths?

Pretty sure that is a general damage bonus, but I tend to use the +armor ones.
Thanks for all the tips guys... the roll, roll, roll, quick strike, rinse, repeat technique was keeping me alive for a little while, but I just couldn't seem to do much damage to them, and in the end I kept running out of health.

I'll try the Axii thing out and see how it goes.

I haven't seen this item as yet. Where do you find it?
Spoiler

Its only really the first two wraiths that spawn that are particularly difficult, because they both spawn at the same time, in that small room, making it easy for them to get lethal flank attacks in on you. You'll encounter others, but it seems easier to isolate and kill them.
I had a wraith rape me of my orens in The Witcher 1. Does that count? =P
Yrden one of them then use light heavy heavy combo on the second one. roll away drop yrden on the floor again catch one then LHH the free one. this basic setup should be able to keep you safe controlling 2 v 1 harder fights in the game quite easily.

This. I found that using Yrden on one then proceed to pummel the other with fast attacks does the trick.
My strategy on my first playthrough was the yrden tango, too. XD
DUDE you need to max out ur Quen sign ASAP it helps you adsorb so much damage and also returns some of the damage back to those wraiths!! Also fire and rolling around helps too.
dang, they kicked my butt. i used necrophage oil ooops... but honestly that wouldn't have made a difference.
