In general terms, I like the UI and TW2 is a GREAT game, but ...
I'm the only one who miss typing name of the saved games ?
That is my problem with the "consolization".
I fell pc users are losing usefull features just because the game is targeted for platforms without keyboards.

Being able to type the name of save games and not being able to use the same ones again is one of the things I'd like to be able to do. Ending up with tons of saves that all say the same thing bugs me since I can't always tell from looking at them what's going on.

It's especially a pain when I have to go back to do something over, which I do a LOT!
i liked hiow the last game did it, pictures and told you were you were on the map
It should not be about which platform is better than the other because by virtue of being obsolete the conoles loose. But i am not going to harp on that i think from what i have read is that PC gamers get a little irritated when things that have been common place in the industry since Doom or Rise of the Triad ( yea i just climbed out of my WAAAAAAAAY back machine), things that no PC gamer would allow a studio to get away with not including in a game are now accepted as common practice by folks who in reality have no frame of reference.

Things like being able to assign key for controller interface. Why do I as a PC gamer have to use a specific key to interact in the game. My comtrol scheme has approximately 100 different keys that can be used. That 100 is only if i am willing to concede the F1 through F12 keys plus escape as developer only which is ok by me provided i can set up the rest as i choose.

Things like the limited unflexible control schemes are necessary when you are dealing with a console as they have at most (?) 14 keys on a standard controller. It is apparent in the design of a game that has console roots to see multiple game functions tagged to one key like ME2 where sprint/cover/activate are all tagged to shift in the PC version. In a PC only game this would be first off what ever key configuration i want, but each function would be seperate, where as a console game can not have that flexibility. As a PC gamer nothing pisses me off more than that because IMHO that is sloppy or lazy programming and seems that the developer either has no clue about thier audience or does not care.

Things like not being able to name the save files, or be able to with in the game have a menu where i can manipulate them. I have watched the indusrty start out restrictive because it had to but as the power of the platforms grew so did the creativity of developers but now i am watching it due to again the restrictive nature of the hardware regress.

Everything i mentioned 10 years ago any developer would have been laughed right to the poor house with a " come back when you have designed something that shows you have a clue, Sport". So they turned to the easier to please less discerning console market that is lets face it is a market driven by children. Not to say that there are not some adults who have consoles, but children are the primary market for consoles. As such children with no frame of reference to what has come before them will as children do chase the "shiny" ooooh look a ballon and off into traffic they go. If a developer does NOT have to spend additional funds to tighten up or create depth in a product and it still sells why would they do anything else. It is not about consoles but more about the folks who use them until they demad what was common place again it will not happen, it is unfortunate and it is also reality.

I really only have 3 issues with the UI...

1: Software mouse.... FUUUUUUU......

2: Inventory management is a bit haphazard to say the least... could have been done
better. Can't wait for antihero_'s inventory UI tweak to go live... \o/

3: Alchemy.... painful.....

Other than that I really like this game (apart from the rigged dice poker matches). On my 2nd playthru now.... Plough 'em all!!!!
There are still bugs regarding hotkeys. I press them 6 or 7 times before Geralt reacts. The list inventory and alchemy panels are abysmal. God I hope CDPR fixes these things. The stupid fucking consolized UI is by far the worst aspect of this game.

Its a joke thinking people would try this on insanity; talk about rolling the dice, you just don't know what you'll get with the controls.
